Title: Senior Cost Accountant Role: This role supports cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing finance for both commercial and clinical programs. You will help manage financial reporting, inventory analysis, and costing activities, working closely with cross-functional teams. Job responsibilities: • Oversee aspects of monthly, quarterly, semiannual, and annual reports filed with regulatory agencies, • Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and completeness, • Develop and implement control procedures and edit checks to protect the integrity of reported results, • Validate balance sheet accounts, supporting schedules, and reporting usage, • Perform quarter-over-quarter variance analysis and consolidate explanations of key drivers, • Maintain familiarity with new accounting standards and disclosure requirements and assess reporting impacts, • Partner on firmwide initiatives to implement new accounting disclosures and reporting changes, • Lead automation initiatives in specialty reporting areas to improve data quality and efficiency, • Identify gaps in current reporting processes and implement new controls and strategic solutions, • Oversee migration of report preparation activities into the team and re-engineer workflows where needed, • Coordinate release testing and implementation work related to reporting changes Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills: • 6 years of experience in a finance or accounting organization with exposure to financial statements and regulatory reporting, • Strong understanding of end-to-end reporting processes and internal controls, • Proven ability to analyze complex financial data and investigate variances with strong attention to detail, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to senior leaders, • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence outcomes, • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment, • Self-motivated, takes initiative, and thrives in a changing work environment Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, • Experience using SQL for analysis, reconciliations, or controls, • Experience with Databricks or similar data platforms, • Experience leading automation or process re-engineering in a reporting or controllership environment Chase is a leading financial services firm, helping nearly half of America's households and small businesses achieve their financial goals through a broad range of financial products.
