Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring seasonal, part-time Scoopers to join our Roosevelt Field Mall ice cream shop on Long Island, NY! Our Scoopers are the ultimate Van Leeuwen ambassadors, bringing our high standards and hospitality to life in every guest interaction. We're looking for self-starters who thrive independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. The ideal candidate brings positive energy, strong people skills and a genuine passion for ice cream! This position is SEASONAL and is directly tied to the peak demands of the summer months. The end date of employment is 10/07/2026 unless otherwise specified in the interview. Seasonal Part Time Scoopers at Van Leeuwen's scoop shops make $17.00 per hour + an average of an additional $7 per hour in tips! *Tips are based on averages and subject to seasonal fluctuation.*Our team members must have availability to work at least three shifts per week and be available to work past 12am.     PURPOSE The purpose of Flight Checker is to ensure the accurate preparation, organization, verification, and loading of all order equipment and food items in accordance with production loading diagrams and operational standards. The position is responsible for coordinating 3rd Party shipping orders, aircraft trolley and container setups, verifying product accuracy and placement, managing cold-chain logistics, and implementing last-minute count updates to ensure flights and shipping orders are fully compliant, on time, and of the highest service quality. This role supports production and shipping operations by maintaining strict adherence to company procedures, safety regulations, and management directives while ensuring clients receive consistent order deliveries. Candidates must have availability to work Sunday through Friday, with Saturdays off. Shifts are scheduled within the organization’s hours of operation: 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Oversee the meals setup and equipment of 3rd Party shipping orders and verify orders are closed and ready for shipping according to company procedures. · Verify there is a 3rd Party Order Report for each shipping order and Transfer responsibility to the receiving party with this form as per company procedures. · Oversee order traffic from refrigerators to setup and back. Make sure all equipment is returned to rightful place. · In case of count updates, advise production what to prepare and make sure all changes are incorporated before shipping. · Follow managers’ direction and company regulations. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED · Ability to work collaboratively within a team · Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines · Analytical skills for reviewing orders, documentation, and inventory accuracy PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS · Experience with shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or inventory control · Experience in a highly regulated environment (airline catering, food production, or similar) · Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). · Certification in inventory management or supply chain practice WORK ENVIRONMENT · Warehouse setting PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. safely · Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time · Physically fit to bend, kneel, reach, stretch throughout the shift and perform repetitive motions · Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination · Able to operate in environments with high noise levels, temperature extremes, humidity, and slippery surfaces · Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain professionalism during high-volume or escalation periods
