This role is HYBRID onsite 3 days a week 2 days remote out of Long Island City Queens, NY DESCRIPTION – Senior Packaging Designer • The Senior Designer is responsible for motivating and mentoring the team to consistently produce innovative, on-target, on time results. The person in this role has excellent communication skills, a proven track record of success and is considered to be a good role model for peers and subordinates and a brand ambassador for the company. The ideal candidate must be extremely creative with an understanding of packaging design. Must have the ability to bring new and creative packaging to life from concept through to production. This person in this role is generally responsible for package design through production on 3 or 4 core brands 70% of the time and works on other brands and / or new brand concepts 30% of the time. Designer will need to be innovative with a strong understanding of the consumer demographics. 2.0 Specific Responsibilities: • Works independently, requires minimal supervision., • Clearly demonstrates a solid understanding of the brands and the competitive environment as it relates to games and puzzle products and brands., • Has excellent problem-solving skills., • Consistently maintains a positive attitude and is considered a good role model., • Partner with VB Management and Brand Management to set direction for new brands and individual items., • Partner with Licensing Coordinators and Licensors and ensure team maintains Licensor Brand Integrity., • Delivers innovative results that support brand strategy., • Works with the production team to ensure integrity of design in final deliverables., • Works with project management to set priorities, schedules and hit target ship dates., • Manage the timelines of the projects assigned to you., • Maintain a consistently high level of quality, thoroughness and attention to detail., • Effectively communicate all project related progress/issues or concerns to the team and to Project Management in a timely and professional manner., • Solicit creative direction from the Director of Packaging and Design Manager in a timely manner., • Collaborate with Product Design team, Structural Engineering, Marketing, Quality Control, Licensing and Product Development teams as well as overseas agents, as necessary, in the product development and approval process., • Maintain knowledge of new technologies within your area of expertise 3.0 Reporting Lines 3.1 This position reports to VB Director, Games GBU. 4.0 Required Skill Set: • Heightened creative and technical abilities including conceptual drawing, and manual illustration a plus. • Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat. • A strong sense of design. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Excellent time management skills. • Ability to adhere to project budgets and deadlines. • Proven ability to work in a high volume, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment. 5.0 Required Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum 6 to 8 years in the consumer products industry; Games or Toys preferred., • Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, (BFA) or equivalent; or 4 or more years related experience and / or training.
