Job Description Job Summary: The Landscape Architect / Landscape Designer is a member of the in-house team responsible for design related to site development, building shell and core construction, and property management, with a particular emphasis on the aesthetics of hardscape, landscape and public space design. The position entails interaction with, and management of, outside design professionals and contractors for various aspects of site and building related design and construction. This is a design position. The objective of the position is to collaborate with the Vice President, Landscape, and other team members, in conceptualizing and developing designs that ensure that the proper levels of aesthetic appeal are established and maintained within the company’s 24 million square foot real estate portfolio. Job Duties: Essential duties include: • In-house design related to landscape, hardscape and public spaces, and oversight of consultants regarding the development of designs relating to site development, building core and shell, and public spaces especially as the designs relate to aesthetics • Design efforts (both in-house and by consultants) related to ensuring business parks contain proper signage for site identification, wayfinding, and in-house corporate branding • Ongoing assessment of existing landscape and hardscape areas within the property management portfolio to assist property managers in developing immediate and long-term improvement plans as necessary to maintain aesthetic appeal of the properties • Design visualization including hand sketches, computer renderings, both 2D and 3D, and construction documentation of in-house projects. • Preparation of design plans and construction drawings for prospective tenants including leasing exhibits, tenant improvement plans, and signage with coordination between Construction, Leasing, and Tenant Improvement departments. Job Qualifications: A Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a minimum of 5-7 years of design experience, including landscape and hardscape design with a strong knowledge of local plant material. Must have welldeveloped design skills, be proficient with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Vectorworks) and 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Lumion, Revit), and be a creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills. Applicant should have strong graphic design abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to operate basic office equipment such as a computer, scanner, copier, and cellular telephone, and possess a driver’s license. Work duties will take place on and off premises including office and field settings, and includes the requirement to traverse undeveloped terrain containing varying degrees of vegetative cover in all weather conditions. Regular attendance onsite is an essential function of the job.

The Staff Designer may also prepare sketches and other graphic information for use within technical documents, proposals, and sales-related documents. The Staff Designer may supervise the work of other designer and drafter personnel. Duties And Responsibilities ESSENTIAL • Works closely with engineers and more senior designers to make drawing corrections and works independently to makes changes in accordance with drawing redlines. Works directly with engineers and manufacturing personnel to make on-the-fly drawing updates., • Must perform independently and in a highly collaborative environment working with multiple project teams. Must be comfortable in environments where scope and requirements change frequently., • Checks technical accuracy and completeness of drawings., • Independently, prepares CADD solid models at the part, assembly, and concept design level using Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks; completes layout and detail drawings, including application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, for moderately complex equipment or mechanisms., • Creates independent, original designs for moderately complex parts and assemblies; interacts with engineering and manufacturing personnel to ensure manufacturability, maintainability, and proper assembly., • Prepares engineering drawings, layout, and detailed design of mechanical systems using drafting techniques (SolidWorks or AutoCAD)., • As required, works independently to select commercial off-the-shelf components (electrical and mechanical) that meet stated performance requirements., • Mentor designers and drafters to ensure consistency in design and drawings. Regularly, coordinates work of one or more designers and drafters on a project., • Occasionally interfaces with clients., • Provides input to engineering lead and/or Program Manager regarding design / drafting resources required for defined scope of work within defined schedule and budgetary constraints., • Assists in estimating costs / schedule related to design / drafting tasks for bids and proposals., • Participates in Technical Working Groups to provide continuous improvement to OTECH processes. Ensures designs meet quality standards and customer requirements., • May recommend design solutions or options to improve cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and maintainability., • Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED • 10-15 years of CAD design experience., • Associate degree in design, drafting, or related engineering field, or equivalent work experience., • Formal training in use of Dassault Systèmes SolidWorks solid modeling software., • Proficient in SolidWorks Routing Program, Sheet Metal Program, Weldment Program, and product data management., • SolidWorks Advanced Parts and Advanced Assemblies certificate preferred., • Working knowledge of Military Standards and ANSI Y14 drafting standards including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing., • Experience with phases of production, machining, and manufacturing. Advanced working knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication, such as machining centers (CNC), sheet metal, and welding fabrication., • Experience in structural design., • Experience in electro-mechanical packaging., • Ability to create schedules for design deliverables and to support design reviews., • Ability to work independently and to supervise other designers and drafters in development of original designs, modifications to existing designs, and technical drawings of parts and assemblies., • Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of CAD equipment., • Good verbal and interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with vendors and customers., • Ability to interact with managers and engineers to solve difficult technical problems and challenges., • Ability to communicate effectively in writing., • Able to work overtime hours as needed., • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word®, Excel, and PowerPoint., • Must be able to obtain security clearance and pass a drug test.
