Job Description Structured Credit / CLO Associate Attorney – New York (2–8 Years) Compensation Range: $235,000–$435,000 Direct Counsel is partnering with a premier global law firm to recruit a Structured Credit / CLO Associate Attorney for its New York office. This opportunity is suited for attorneys with 2 to 8 years of experience, with responsibilities and compensation tailored to skill level. You’ll join a high-performing, market-leading team that represents top investment banks, asset managers, and financial institutions on sophisticated structured finance transactions. While the core focus is collateralized loan obligations (CLOs), the practice also handles: * Securitizations across asset classes * Asset-based lending transactions (bilateral and syndicated) * Warehouse and bridge financings * Preferred stock and bespoke financing structures * Structured finance vehicles and related regulatory matters * Corporate governance issues tied to financing transactions Associates in this group work on lean deal teams, gain direct client exposure, and take ownership of transactions. The team fosters a collaborative, fast-paced environment with strong mentorship and career development. Ideal candidates will have: * 2–8 years of relevant experience in CLOs, structured credit, securitization, or complex finance transactions * Experience drafting and negotiating financing documents, including credit agreements, intercreditor arrangements, and related deal documents * Admission to the New York State Bar in good standing * Strong academic credentials and detail orientation * Ability to manage workstreams, interface with clients, and handle fast-paced transactional matters * Familiarity with forms such as NVCA, seriesseed.com, or Y Combinator is a plus at the more senior end Compensation Salary will be commensurate with experience, ranging from $235,000 to $435,000 annually.
