REQUIRED SKILLS * Must be knowledgeable and skilled in Sports and have prior experience successfully teaching and instructing youth. * Prior experience teaching and instructing youth preferred * Must be able to follow a curriculum * Must be responsible, reliable, and punctual! * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. * May be required to walk up and down stairs. * May have to lift or move objects/materials as needed. * Work is performed mostly within a New York City Public School but may be required to interact with the community at-large during trips or events. QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or Equivalent required; some college preferred * A minimum of one year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. * A minimum of one year of teaching experience is required. * Must have passion for New York Edge's mission and demonstrated interest in education and youth development. * Candidates qualified to lead instruction in more than one activity are also preferred. The Data Specialist will play a critical role in assisting the Program Director and New York Edge in running reports and tracking data which details the program's successes, highlights, and deficits. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible. * Organize, lead, and promote interest in arts activities such as photography, filming, and videography. * Organize performance groups and direct their rehearsals. * Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students. * Ascertain and interpret group interests, evaluate equipment and facilities, and adapt activities to meet the student’s needs. * Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities. * Explain principles, techniques, and safety procedures to participants in the activities and demonstrate the use of materials and equipment. * Evaluate activities to determine if they are producing desired results. * Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' needs and interests. * Progressive development of student skills leading to a final project REQUIRED SKILLS * Must be knowledgeable and skilled in various photography and have experience successfully teaching and instructing youth. * Must be able to follow a curriculum * Must be responsible, reliable, and punctual! * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. * May be required to walk up and down stairs. * May have to lift or move objects/materials as needed. * Work is performed mostly within a New York City Public School but may be required to interact with the community at-large during trips or events. * Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or Equivalent required; some college preferred * A minimum of one year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. * A minimum of one year of coaching experience is required. * Must have passion for New York Edge's mission and demonstrated interest in education and youth development. * Candidates qualified to lead instruction in more than one activity are also preferred. WORK SCHEDULE * 9-15 hours per week. * Monday through Friday -- 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm The Photography Specialist will be required to report to the school building and interact with staff, students, parents, and school administration. At the time of offer and acceptance, the job requires safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and Department of Health. Additionally, this position, while operating company vehicles, will use the utmost care and discretion by adhering to federal and state transportation laws and any related company policies. Essential functions: • Drive vans or box trucks to customer locations for service needs., • Report to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position., • Meet department productivity and quality standards., • Receive, comprehend, and respond appropriately to direction., • Work with customers to fulfill customer service requests., • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or DOO., • Has a positive and respectful attitude, • Able to accept change in directions as customer needs change., • Well organized and detail oriented, • Able to work both in a team environment and as an individual contributor., • Able to follow all company policies and procedures., • Self-motivated, • Works well under pressure., • Good knowledge of city streets or able to read a city map., • Ability to use handheld device, electric pickers, drive van or box truck., • Work environment: Must be able to tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to reach, handle, carry, and lift between 10 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, read, and identify numbers for accurate order filling and receiving of material.
