Job Description DEPARTMENT: Youth & Recreation-- Burning Tree Country Club Camp JOB TITLE: Arts & Crafts Director REPORTS TO: Youth & Recreation Director SCHEDULE: Seasonal, Full-Time (40 hours per week; days/times vary based on camp schedule) COMPENSATION: Competitive; based on experience BENEFITS: Golf privileges, meals, and opportunities for professional development and growth within the association. Burning Tree Country Club Summer Camp is seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and values-driven Camp Arts & Crafts Director to lead and manage our arts and crafts programming. This role is responsible for designing engaging, age-appropriate creative experiences that inspire campers' imagination, confidence, and self-expression. As a key member of the camp leadership team, the Arts & Crafts Director serves as a mentor, educator, and role model—demonstrating teamwork, professionalism, authenticity, consistency, and innovation in daily programming and staff leadership. Through thoughtful planning, collaborative leadership, and high-quality instruction, this position helps create meaningful artistic experiences that reflect Burning Tree’s commitment to excellence and youth development. You: • Have experience as both a camp counselor and arts and crafts leader, • Bring creativity and enthusiasm to daily programming, • Collaborate effectively with counselors and camp leadership, • Lead with positivity, patience, and professionalism, • Take pride in building inclusive, supportive learning environments The Essentials (Core Responsibilities) • Design and implement diverse arts and crafts activities for various age groups and skill levels, • Develop weekly schedules featuring innovative projects, group collaborations, and individual creations, • Introduce new techniques, materials, and creative approaches, • Lead and supervise counselors and volunteers in the arts and crafts area, • Provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff, facilitating activities, • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging creative environment, • Foster creativity, self-expression, and collaboration, • Encourage camper participation and confidence, • Provide individualized support and encouragement, • Manage inventory of arts and crafts supplies, • Ensure materials are stocked, organized, and accessible, • Oversee supply budgets and make cost-effective purchasing decisions The Expectations (Performance & Leadership) • Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and camp policies, • Monitor proper use of tools, materials, and equipment, • Conduct regular safety inspections, • Work closely with camp leadership to integrate arts programming, • Support special events, showcases, and exhibitions, • Contribute creatively to overall camp programming, • Communicate professionally with families and staff as needed, • Share updates on projects, achievements, and upcoming activities, • Support promotional and engagement initiatives, • Gather feedback from campers and staff, • Assess program effectiveness, • Implement improvements and innovations The Standards (Qualifications & Professional Conduct) • Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related field preferred, • Previous experience working with children in camp or educational settings, • Strong organizational and time-management skills, • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills, • Passion for the arts and youth development, • Reliable attendance and professional reliability, • Primarily indoor and outdoor creative programming spaces, • Active, hands-on role involving standing, moving, and assisting campers, • Fast-paced, collaborative camp setting, • Requires flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and needs
