Job DescriptionJOB SUMMARY This role is responsible for operating mechanical recycling equipment according to established procedures, performing daily cleaning of equipment and the work area, and maintaining a safe and orderly recycling area. The position also involves accurately recording recycling operations, supporting the Warehouse team with loading and unloading shipments, performing trailer and shipment inspections, and operating hand lifts and forklifts for material handling and storage. This role is crucial for maintaining compliance with the Warehouse team, providing backup for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk, and becoming proficient in receiving domestic and international shipments, including hazardous goods, by executing computerized tracking programs. Additionally, the individual will champion safety processes, actively participate in training programs, and fulfill all required learning and evaluations. The position requires significant physical exertion, including repeated lifting and loading of cases (20-50 pounds), pushing/pulling (40-150 pounds of force), reaching, squatting, and bending. Responsibilities also include unloading pallets with mechanical or hand-powered equipment and placing items in designated areas, delivering and transferring items between buildings on time, and operating site vehicles safely. Key Responsibilities Operate mechanical recycling equipment per established procedure. Perform daily cleaning of recycling equipment and work area. Maintain recycling area safe and in proper order. Keep accurate records of recycling operations. Support Warehouse team in loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing shipments. Perform appropriate trailer and shipment inspection. Operate hand lifts and forklifts safely to handle and store palletized goods. Work with Warehouse team to maintain compliance. Provide backup for Shipping and Receiving Clerk. Become proficient in receiving domestic and international shipments, including hazardous and non-hazardous goods. Execute receiving/warehousing computerized tracking programs. Champion safety processes and procedures. Actively participate in ongoing training programs. Fulfill all required learning and training experiences and pass all evaluations and assessments. Deliver and transfer items in between buildings in the facility. Ensure all transfers are completed on time. Operate site truck (or other site vehicles) in a safe manner between sites/buildings. Load, secure, and unload vehicle contents while ensuring loads are always protected. Maintain site vehicles, perform daily safety inspections, and maintain vehicle maintenance logs. Report all vehicle deficiencies to the manager and EHS representative. Deliver received goods to appropriate recipients. Keep shipping dock and warehouse clean and organized. Maintain facility and maintenance stock inventory in an organized fashion and in proper locations. Perform other routine duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Willing to work overtime (8-to-9-hour shifts). Must wear steel toe shoes. Ability to wear required attire in certain areas such as safety shoes, hairnets, safety glasses, and uniform. Must have current driver’s license (Non CDL) with good driving record. Operating equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.). Must be well organized, capture work details and highlight any unexpected learning. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Must be proactive, reliable, self-motivated and a team player. Adapts quickly to change. Ability to prioritize workload. Must be able to understand directions and work with limited supervision. Adhere to schedule beginning at 7:00 AM M-F. Basic computer skills, competent with or ability to learn Microsoft Office software. Ability to understanding and knowledge of warehouse and facility Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s). Lifting and loading cases ranging from 20-50 pounds repeatedly during work hours. Pushing/pulling using from 40 - 150 pounds of force, occasionally. Reaching, squatting, and bending while delivering items in between buildings. Unloads pallets of product from the delivery vehicle with an electronic pallet jack or 2-wheel hand truck and places the items in a designated area. Preferred Qualifications Previous non CDL truck driving experience is a plus. Forklift Operator experience a plus or ability to learn. * Ability to learn or experience with specialized receiving and warehousing tracking software.
