Job Description The Program Assistant – Health Clinic ensures that clients are appropriate for services, adequately registered and checked in for their visit, and will support all front office operations for our clinics. The Program Assistant will participate in a collaborative practice environment and contribute to program development and quality improvement. Duties and Responsibilities: Administration • Verifies client eligibility at each visit., • Documents eligibility and insurance status in the EHR., • Verifies & Documents Medicaid insurance status in EHR, • Completes client registration & Check-In in the EHR., • Ensures required forms are signed by client including consents, releases, and discharge documents., • Manages Walk-In list and waiting room capacity., • Assist clients and providers with client check-out., • Answers phone calls and addresses client inquiries., • Notifies providers of follow-up phone calls, as needed., • Receives and processes mail and deliveries for clinic., • Schedules lab pick-ups., • Follows up on provider referrals for care coordination, as needed., • Schedules and verifies client appointments., • Performs opening & closing procedures for clinic., • Trains and oversees volunteers., • Assists the Director of Health Programs with program projects., • Addresses patient and provider inquiries via phone, text, and/or email., • Inventories and orders necessary supplies., • Utilizing interpreter services as needed., • Receiving and sending medical records requests., • Coordinates with administrative staff at partner organizations., • Processes medical records requests., • Participates in continuing education activities., • Enters documentation in EHR., • Processes lab specimens. Qualifications: Education • Minimum of a High School Diploma required., • One year of experience in a healthcare care setting as a receptionist, unit clerk, or office manager required., • Prior experience working with vulnerable populations in a healthcare setting or in a free/charitable clinic preferred., • Prior experience with Medicaid billing preferred., • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR) Certification required. Compensation Statement: The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual salary offered is determined by considering each candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, and certifications or other professional licenses held.
