Position Summary Soul Foodies is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to serve as the first point of contact for our guests. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering excellent customer service. The Cashier is responsible for greeting customers, answering phones, taking and processing orders, maintaining the front-of-house area, and supporting kitchen operations as needed. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every guest receives accurate orders and an exceptional experience. Essential ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service • Greet every customer promptly and professionally upon arrival., • Provide friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable service at all times., • Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with menu questions, order placement, and catering inquiries., • Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary., • Ensure every customer interaction reflects Soul Foodies' commitment to hospitality and service excellence.Order Taking & Point of Sale Operations, • Accurately enter customer orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system., • Process cash, credit card, and electronic payment transactions., • Verify order accuracy before sending tickets to the kitchen., • Communicate clearly with kitchen staff regarding special requests, modifications, and order details., • Ensure orders are packaged correctly and include all requested items before distribution., • Assist with packaging and assembling customer orders when needed.Front-of-House Operations, • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming lobby area., • Clean tables, counters, windows, doors, and customer-facing surfaces throughout the shift., • Monitor and restock condiments, utensils, napkins, straws, and other guest supplies., • Ensure drink coolers and condiment coolers remain clean, organized, fully stocked, and properly rotated., • Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of workstations and customer areas.Inventory & Stocking, • Monitor front-of-house inventory levels and notify management of shortages., • Restock beverages, condiments, packaging supplies, and guest service items as needed., • Assist with receiving and organizing front-of-house deliveries., • Ensure all supplies are stored properly and remain organized.Cleaning & Sanitation, • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures., • Regularly empty trash receptacles and transport trash to designated disposal areas., • Maintain cleanliness of beverage stations, condiment areas, and service counters., • Complete assigned cleaning tasks and side work before the end of each shift., • Ensure compliance with company cleanliness standards and health department regulations.Team Support, • Assist kitchen and management staff as needed to ensure smooth operations., • Support catering preparation, packaging, and order organization when required., • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist in other areas of the business., • Work collaboratively with all team members to maintain efficient operations during peak business hours.Qualifications, • Previous cashier, customer service, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred., • Strong customer service and communication skills., • Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system preferred., • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment., • Basic math and cash-handling skills., • Professional appearance and positive attitude., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance required.Physical Requirements, • Ability to stand for extended periods of time., • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds., • Ability to bend, reach, stock shelves, and perform routine cleaning tasks., • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Preferred Traits, • Friendly and outgoing personality., • Strong work ethic and sense of urgency., • Excellent communication skills., • Dependable and punctual., • Organized and detail-oriented., • Team player with a positive attitude., • Customer-focused mindset., • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs.What Success Looks Like A successful Cashier at Soul Foodies creates a positive first impression for every guest, accurately processes orders, maintains a clean and organized front-of-house environment, supports team members when needed, and ensures customers receive exceptional service with every interaction.
