Job Description Neuro/Surgical Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position Location: Albany, NY Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12s Nights Completion Bonus: $7500 (After 3 completed contracts) Pay: $2728.80/week Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Neuro/Surgical ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide expert critical care to a diverse patient population. This challenging role involves caring for complex post-operative surgical patients, as well as those with acute neurological conditions like stroke and traumatic brain injury. The Neuro/SICU RN must be proficient in advanced hemodynamic monitoring, neurological assessments, and managing life-sustaining equipment. The ideal candidate is a rapid critical thinker, remains calm under pressure, and excels at managing multiple complex priorities in a high-acuity setting. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct, high-acuity care to critically ill surgical and neurological patients., • Perform frequent and detailed neurological assessments (e.g., GCS, cranial nerves) and complex surgical monitoring., • Monitor and manage various critical medical devices, including ventilators, IV drips, and invasive monitoring systems., • Administer and titrate vasoactive and neuro-specific medications with precision., • Identify and respond quickly to changes in patient status, particularly related to neurological and surgical complications., • Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, neurologists, and the interdisciplinary team to execute complex care plans., • Active RN license in New York., • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing., • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications are preferred; NIHSS is a plus., • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent ICU experience, specifically in a Neuro ICU, SICU, or mixed critical care unit., • Weekly pay with competitive rates, • Health, dental, and vision insurance, • 401(k) retirement plan with company match, • Referral bonuses for referring talented professionals into our network ATC Healthcare has been a leader in healthcare staffing for nearly 40 years, offering personalized placement and support to healthcare professionals nationwide.
