Job Description JOB DEFINITION: The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing short-term acute care to individuals presenting to the Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center with a mental health/substance use crisis. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensures the completion of all medical assessments for each client, including coordinating additional services with the psychiatrist., • Collaborates with the psychiatrist in the coordination of care for clients to include clinical and educational training of the team as needed; development, maintenance and supervision of all medication administration efforts; supervision of all psychiatric and medical treatment and/or medical interventions., • Monitors the pharmacological effects of prescribed psychotropic medications and notifies the psychiatrist of their reported effectiveness., • Working in conjunction with the psychiatrist and nurse practitioner, is responsible for the coordination of patient education efforts to include the benefits, risks and possible side effects of prescribed medication.
