Participants are either mandated or encouraged to voluntarily attend this class as part of their supervised release program. The class offers participants an overview of basic principles of power and control dynamics and uses an interactive format to introduce strategies for making healthy choices in intimate relationships. The Bilingual Facilitator will provide this class as part of a larger IPV supervised release track, with the goal of increasing compliance with court mandates and return to court. The Bilingual Facilitator will also train in other IPV and domestic violence groups and classes as the team seeks to expand programming. The Bilingual Facilitator will primarily teach online but will is also required to teach classes in person throughout New York City's five boroughs as the program expands. The class will be offered in several separate groups: Spanish-speaking, male, female, and LGBTQ+ defendants utilizing different curricula. Classes are offered in other languages with an interpreter on an as-needed basis. Job Description Summary Streetwork Project is an innovative outreach-counseling program for homeless youth in Harlem, which utilizes a harm reduction approach providing comprehensive services to adolescents and young adults impacted by homelessness and involved in street activities (gangs, violence, drug use/sale and survival sex). The Youth Services Navigator will promote access to harm reduction supplies and services at Streetwork’s Drop-In Center, with a focus on LGBTQ youth and youth of color at risk of SUDs Youth Services Navigators (YSN) will facilitate and conduct one-on-one harm reduction goal setting intervention for drug using clients. Youth Services Navigators will provide overdose prevention and response trainings for drug users. The YSN will provide youth seeking harm reduction services with information, counseling and supplies (safer syringe services, sniff kits, safer sex supplies, Naloxone kits and sharps disposal kits), The Youth Services Navigators will also be needed to provide general program services such client monitoring in the milieu, intake and assessment, supportive counseling, referrals, syringe exchange, escorts and the provision of concrete services (meal preparation client, laundry, provision of supplies), and groups. Position Summary The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or CASAC Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor provides evidence-based individual and group therapy to clients aged 21 and older struggling with substance use and alcohol dependence, as well as support to their families and collateral contacts. Based in the Midtown Treatment and Research, this role combines direct clinical care with program development, training, outreach, and administrative responsibilities to support and grow our substance abuse treatment program. Key Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, treatment planning, and referrals for clients 21 and older with substance use and alcohol dependence., • Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices., • Deliver crisis intervention services as needed., • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical records in compliance with regulatory standards., • Participate actively in weekly peer clinical supervision and clinical rounds., • Provide training, outreach, and consultation to staff, referring agents, and external community partners on clinical issues related to substance use treatment., • Assist the Program Director with program development, quality improvement, and growth initiatives., • Offer peer supervision and contribute to staff professional development through in-service trainings., • Serve as acting director in the Program Director’s absence., • Perform other related duties as assigned.
