Position Summary The TIGI Head of R&D is responsible for leading end-to-end product development and technical execution across a highly externalized R&D model. This role serves as the single point of accountability for delivering innovation from concept through commercialization by effectively managing external labs, suppliers, and contract manufacturers. The TIGI Head of R&D combines strong technical expertise with hands-on project leadership to ensure products meet performance, claims, regulatory, cost, and timing expectations. This individual will also lead claims development and clinical/consumer testing programs while managing the TIGI Packaging Lead to ensure seamless integration of formula, packaging, and manufacturing. Primary Responsibilities · Partner with Marketing and Packaging on developing new product innovations and work with external suppliers on the briefing and prototyping stages of the project. · Ensure seamless product technical transfer from site-to-site and partner closely with personnel in the external manufacturing space to enable speed-to-market targets set by the needs of the categories we play in. · Develop and execute the end-to-end product development operations via external global suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high quality, reproducibility, and reliability for all categories withing the TIGI portfolio. · Collaborate with Procurement in establishing raw material supplier strategic partnerships across different categories (i.e. critical raw materials, fragrances, etc.) to co-develop/tap into innovation based on supplier’s expertise. · Partner with Procurement, Operations, and Quality in supplier selection, qualification, and onboarding processes to ensure the availability of high-quality, cost-effective packaging materials and services. · Unlock value and drive agility partnering with external labs and manufacturers to establish the Evermark innovation process to fit the needs of the various categories we play in. · Establish product and process development processes, procedures, and best practices with Quality to drive agility and efficiency and to better anticipate failures. · Ensure that formulation intent makes it all the way to shelf meeting all regulatory requirements and right-first-time, including the e-commerce channel. · Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers globally, ensuring strategic partnerships, regular performance evaluations, and continuous improvement programs. · In partnership with Quality, drive supplier performance metrics, conduct regular supplier assessments, and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain high standards of quality, delivery, and cost efficiency. · Partner with procurement to secure project cost targets with raw material suppliers and external manufacturers. · Act as the lead for the specification management, encompassing the transition, creation and maintenance of technical data across the portfolio. Required Qualifications · BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field. · 10+ years of proven experience in formulation / product development for a global portfolio of cosmetic products. · Experience in end-to-end development from ideation to commercialization of surfactant, hot-pour, and aerosol products. · Understanding of GxPs and FDA Compliance requirements. · Strong technical and leadership skills. · Ability to partner effectively across a diverse set of business partners and customers to deliver key results in a timely manner. · Entrepreneurial; Business owner mentality, willing to be hands-on and contribute as one team. · Critical thinking and comprehensive business acumen. · Excellent communication skills, including spoken and written English. · Ability to travel both internationally and domestically up to 40%. · Strong PC skills: MS Office, PowerPoint, CAD software is a plus. Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $170,000 - $190,000 USD per year. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and geographic location.
