Job DescriptionDescription: Title: Receiving Stock Associate Department: Community Access Reports To: Director of Engagement Location: 2134 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10302 Position Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Rate & Benefits: The pay range for this role is generally $41,000-$46,000 commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. Position Summary The Receiving Stock Associate is responsible for managing all incoming food deliveries and donations, ensuring accurate documentation, proper storage, and effective inventory control. This role supports safe and efficient pantry and warehouse operations by receiving, transporting, storing, and tracking food items in compliance with food safety standards and organizational procedures. In addition to receiving and stocking responsibilities, the Receiving Stock Associate conducts donation pickups, maintains professional relationships with donors and vendors, and represents the organization positively in the community. This position works closely with pantry, warehouse, and program staff to ensure food is available, organized, and ready for distribution to clients in a timely manner. Receiving & Inventory Management • Receive, inspect, and verify all food deliveries and donations for accuracy, quality, and safety., • Accurately document incoming inventory, including quantities, expiration dates, and donor information., • Enter inventory data into tracking systems and maintain up-to-date stock records., • Label, date, and store food items according to food safety and storage guidelines., • Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices to minimize waste., • Identify, separate, and properly dispose of damaged, expired, or unsafe food items., • Maintain clean, organized, and safe storage areas, including shelves, refrigerators, and freezers., • Ensure proper temperature control and monitoring for refrigerated and frozen items., • Assist with setting up and maintaining efficient storage systems and warehouse layout., • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled donation pickups from vendors, partners, and donors., • Safely load, transport, and unload food donations using agency vehicles., • Ensure vehicles are kept clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards., • Coordinate with pantry staff, program teams, and volunteers to support daily operations., • Communicate inventory shortages, overstock, or quality concerns to supervisors., • Provide support during pantry distributions and special food events as needed., • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety policies., • Adhere to organizational procedures, HPNAP guidelines, and applicable regulations., • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required., • Warehouse and pantry setting with frequent movement and physical activity., • Exposure to cold storage areas and outdoor conditions during pickups., • Fast-paced environment requires flexibility and teamwork., • Valid clean driver's license., • Must have and maintain a clean driving record (driver’s license background check required)., • Customer service experience is preferred; driver must be able to always interact with diverse groups of colleagues and clients in a positive and cooperative manner., • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis., • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods., • Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment (training provided)., • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including refrigerated and freezer environments., • Ability to safely operate agency vehicles and maintain a valid driver’s license (if required for pickups)., • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and safety., • Must have a flexible schedule., • Prior experience in food service, sanitation, warehouse, or custodial work., • Knowledge of basic food safety principles and sanitation practices., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
