Job DescriptionTitle: Warehouse Receiver and Shipper – Dumbo Brooklyn Reports to: Receiving Lead Department: Warehouse Classification: Operator Status: HourlyJOB SUMMARY:Responsible for efficiently managing all aspects of receiving materials, warehouse storage, and shipping finished goods items.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Receive all incoming bulk flour, ingredients, packaging, bakery supplies, and equipment either in-house or at the warehouse., • Uphold GMP and HACCP standards by inspecting and, if necessary, rejecting loads based on various criteria, including carrier truck condition, incoming load condition, material compliance with company specifications, and accurate quantity matching with invoice and P.O. Record truck inspections in Safety Chain., • Ensure proper storage and rotation of inventory by appropriately dating incoming items and utilizing a FIFO system., • Record all transactions using a desktop computer into the organization ERP system., • Conduct weekly accurate inventory counts of all ingredients and wrapping materials., • Load trucks accurately, ensure the proper count, and prepare the bill of lading or receipt for driver confirmation., • Requisition wrapping materials and ingredients daily according to production orders., • Load outbound freight using proper techniques and patterns., • Safely direct inbound and outbound trailers, ensuring correct dock positioning and chocking of wheels., • Inspect trucks for sanitary and food safety concerns, recording findings in Safety Chain., • Prepare materials and products for shipment to various customers, including Brooklyn., • Identify and report damages and shortages.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:, • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas and the warehouse., • Assist in special projects requiring forklift operation., • Perform necessary data entry duties., • Ensure all ingredients and packing materials are free of dust and debris before staging for use., • Perform required inventory counts., • Maintain warehouse in a clean and orderly fashion., • Double wrap all pallets before shipment., • Ensure stretch wrapper settings are correct for the item being wrapped., • Conduct safety checks on material handling equipment prior to use., • Charge material handling equipment after use and add water to batteries as needed., • Adhere to company GMP policies and guidelines., • Perform other duties assigned by Management.REQUIREMENTS:, • 3 years of experience as a forklift operator., • Strong attention to detail., • Valid certification to operate a forklift., • High school diploma., • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills., • Valid Driver's License
