Job DescriptionJob Title: Forklift Operator / Order Selector Job Description This role supports a busy warehouse operation by safely operating forklifts and walkie riders to pick, move, and stage products for shipment. You will use a headset and RF scanner to accurately follow voice-directed orders, build and deliver finished pallets to designated bays, and maintain productivity and accuracy standards while handling cases weighing 25–50 lbs. Responsibilities • Operate forklifts, tow motors, walkie riders, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently within the warehouse., • Use a headset and voice-directed system to listen to orders and accurately pick products according to instructions., • Utilize RF scanners to locate, verify, and track inventory and orders throughout the picking and shipping process., • Build, wrap, and stage finished pallets in designated bay areas for outbound shipment., • Maintain accurate product counts and ensure the correct number of cases are picked and processed each day according to production targets., • Perform order picking, order selecting, and material handling tasks in support of shipping and receiving operations., • Load, unload, and move products and materials within the warehouse to support inventory, shipping, and receiving activities., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating equipment and handling products., • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards to support efficient and safe warehouse operations., • Work scheduled shifts and stay flexible to work extended hours as needed, including staying until 1–2 AM when required by production demands.Essential Skills, • Proven experience operating forklifts and tow motors in a warehouse or similar environment., • Hands-on experience with order picking and order selecting in a fast-paced distribution or warehouse setting., • Ability to use RF scanners for inventory tracking, order verification, and location identification., • Demonstrated experience in shipping and receiving, including handling inbound and outbound materials., • Proficiency using pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely., • Ability to lift and move 25–50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift., • Comfort working Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM for order picking, with flexibility to work until 1:00–2:00 AM as needed., • Comfort working Sunday through Thursday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM for tow motor operations, with flexibility to work until 1:00–2:00 AM as needed., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when picking, counting, and staging products., • Ability to follow voice-directed instructions clearly and work efficiently while wearing a headset.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience as a forklift operator, material handler, order selector, or order picker., • Experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment., • Background in inventory support, including basic inventory checks and stock movement., • Familiarity with production-based environments where pay or progression may be tied to performance and productivity., • Ability to adapt to changing workloads and increasing production demands as the company grows.Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a warehouse facility that is climate controlled in certain areas, with shipping and receiving zones where dock doors may remain open and temperatures can vary. You will work with forklifts, tow motors, walkie riders, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and voice-directed headset systems throughout your shift. Standard schedules include Monday–Friday or Sunday–Thursday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with the expectation of working later into the night (until approximately 1:00–2:00 AM) when production requires. The environment is active and fast-paced, with frequent lifting, walking, and equipment operation, and a focus on safe, efficient handling of products and pallets. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Vergne, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
