Job Description Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Worker Job Description This role supports warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations in a modern, climate-controlled facility. You will cross-train across multiple departments, including warehouse, freight shipping, and parcel shipping, to ensure accurate order fulfillment, safe material handling, and timely shipments. The position involves both hands-on physical tasks and basic computer work, with training provided on equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts. Responsibilities • Pick and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently according to documentation and system requirements., • Operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts safely to move, load, and unload materials and products (training provided)., • Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials are handled carefully and placed in correct locations., • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory control to maintain accurate stock levels., • Complete ERP system transactions to record inventory movements, shipments, and receipts., • Use basic computer skills to enter data, process orders, and update shipping and inventory records., • Prepare and handle shipping documentation, including labels, packing lists, and related paperwork., • Conduct quality inspections on outgoing and incoming products to ensure they meet standards., • Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping to maintain a safe, organized, and tidy work area., • Communicate consistently and frequently with team members and other departments to coordinate workflow., • Label products, boxes, and pallets accurately for storage and shipment., • Assist with general material handling, packaging, and unloading tasks as needed across departments., • Participate in cross-training within warehouse, shipping/freight, and general parcel shipping teams to support overall operations. Essential Skills • At least 6+ months of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred., • Experience in shipping and receiving is preferred., • Willingness to be trained on stand-up and sit-down forklift operation., • Ability to perform inventory-related tasks such as cycle counting and warehouse inventory control., • Basic computer skills to perform ERP transactions and maintain shipping and inventory records., • Ability to perform material handling, including loading, unloading, and moving products safely., • Comfort with packaging, packing, and general labor tasks in a warehouse setting., • Ability to use RF scanners or similar devices for picking, packing, and inventory tracking., • Openness to training, feedback, and continuous improvement in processes and performance., • Strong communication skills to support consistent and frequent coordination with team members. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous experience operating forklifts, including stand-up and sit-down models, is a plus., • Experience with shipping documentation, labeling, and quality inspections is beneficial., • Familiarity with ERP systems and warehouse inventory software is an advantage., • Experience in material handling, packaging, and unloading in a warehouse or manufacturing setting., • Ability to work effectively in a cross-trained environment and support multiple departments., • Comfort working in a structured environment with established processes and safety standards. Work Environment The role is based in a state-of-the-art, brand-new, climate-controlled warehouse with an approximate team size of 30–35 people. The facility includes a cafeteria and offers monthly massages, creating a comfortable and employee-focused environment. You will work with warehouse equipment including stand-up and sit-down forklifts, RF scanners, and ERP systems to manage inventory, shipping, and receiving tasks. Multiple shift options are available: a Monday–Thursday shift from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (A and B Shifts), a Monday–Friday shift from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (C Shift), and a second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The warehouse environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with routine cleaning and housekeeping as part of daily operations. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coralville, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
