Job Description Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician Job Description This role is responsible for keeping high-speed production equipment running safely and efficiently by performing both preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems. You will work in a very clean, fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting forming machines, ovens, conveyors, and a large printing press while helping the team shift from primarily reactionary maintenance to a more balanced preventative maintenance program. Responsibilities • Perform preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines, and related equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications., • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions on production equipment, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs to minimize downtime., • Diagnose and repair issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gear boxes, chains, and Fanuc robots as needed., • Use electrical test equipment, including volt meters, to safely test, diagnose, and repair 480-volt 3-phase motor and electrical systems., • Inspect, maintain, and repair conveyor systems and case erectors to ensure smooth and continuous material flow., • Support operation and maintenance of forming machines, ovens, and a large printing press, including equipment with multiple forming dies and overhead cranes., • Perform routine inspections and adjustments to equipment to prevent breakdowns and extend asset life., • Follow established maintenance procedures and safety guidelines while working on mechanical and electrical systems., • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to support accurate recordkeeping and continuous improvement. The role is based in a very clean, high-speed manufacturing facility that produces paper plates and cups using forming machines, case erectors, ovens, conveyors, and a large printing press. The site operates with 34 forming machines, each with multiple forming dies and overhead cranes, as well as 15 ovens and one large printing press. This position follows a 12-hour 2-2-3 shift schedule, working from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., which includes a rotating pattern that provides extended time off every two weeks. You will work around high-speed, mechanically and electrically complex equipment and use standard maintenance tools and test instruments, including volt meters and other diagnostic devices.
