Job Description Job Title: Assembler II Job Description The Assembler II performs detailed mechanical and electrical assembly of in-process refrigeration units, including electrical wiring, brazing, air compressor installation, silicone sealing, and foaming. You will work on standard lines as well as more complex double-door “cyclone” units, using a variety of hand and power tools to build high-quality, insulated fridge and freezer units in a production environment. Responsibilities • Assemble refrigeration units by installing wire harnesses and routing, feeding, and connecting electrical wires according to diagrams and work instructions., • Install air compressors and related components using mallets, hand tools, rivet guns, and other power tools., • Perform brazing operations on parts and assemblies as required to meet product specifications., • Operate foaming equipment to properly fill units with insulating foam material to the correct level., • Apply silicone sealant to units using a caulk gun, ensuring clean, consistent sealing comparable to caulking work., • Handle, lift, and position heavy parts and units, including double-door “cyclone” units, throughout the assembly process., • Work on an assembly line using carts to move units between workstations in a standard fabrication and assembly operation., • Perform basic sheet metal assembly and work with sheet metal parts as needed., • Use saws, rivet guns, and other production tools to complete mechanical assembly tasks., • Conduct quality checks and inspections on assembled units to ensure they meet established standards., • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area., • Work full shifts on your feet, performing repetitive lifting and assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment., • Collaborate with team members and adjust to different stations or tasks as production needs change. Essential Skills • Previous experience in a job that required standing for at least 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week., • Ability to repetitively lift 30–40 lb parts up to 50 or more times per day., • Proficiency using power tools and hand tools gained from prior roles., • Ownership of steel-toe or composite-toe protective shoes suitable for a manufacturing plant., • Ability to work safely while consistently meeting high quality standards., • Proven mechanical assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment., • Proven wiring experience or experience brazing parts., • Ability to perform heavy lifting and general labor in a manufacturing setting., • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, sheet metal, and assembly line processes., • Experience with quality inspection and quality checks on assembled products. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience working with air compressors., • Experience with wiring harnesses and sheet metal assembly., • Experience in manufacturing, production, or fabrication environments., • Familiarity with saw operation, rivet guns, and brazing stations., • Comfort working in organized but space-limited assembly areas., • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow diagrams and instructions accurately. Work Environment This role is based in a standard fabrication and assembly operation divided into fabrication and assembly areas. The fabrication area includes a large laser cutting machine, deburring stations, brazing stations, and workstations for basic hand tool tasks. The main production work occurs in the assembly area, where units move on carts from station to station rather than on conveyors. The assembly area is organized but can feel somewhat cramped because the units are large and take up space. The facility is temperature controlled, though you may still feel warm due to required protective arm sleeves. The position follows a first-shift schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with mandatory additional time on Fridays as needed. You will work in a manufacturing environment that involves heavy lifting, repetitive motions, and continuous use of hand and power tools. PPE and dress code requirements include steel-toe shoes (you must provide your own), safety glasses, protective cut sleeves, and cut-resistant gloves worn throughout the plant. You must wear cotton, canvas, or denim pants that sit at the waist and are belted if needed, with no sweats, spandex, or nylon, and hoods may not be worn over the head while working. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Noblesville, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
