Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time Location: Hummus Republic-Woodbridge NJ 990 St. Georges Ave , Avenel NJ 07001 Role Purpose The Crew Member is the heart of our mission to bring flavorful, convenient, and primarily plant-based meals to the masses while raising the standard of fast food. You are responsible for delivering the Hummus Republic experience through operational excellence, food safety, and a "Healthy Food for Happy People" attitude. Key Responsibilities 1. Customer Service & Problem Solving ● Exceptional Service: Treat every guest, visitor, and teammate with the utmost respect and courtesy at all times. ● Conflict Resolution: Never argue with a guest; handle complaints with empathy and attempt to resolve them at the counter before notifying a manager of the situation. ● Brand Representation: Act as a knowledgeable brand ambassador, maintaining a thorough understanding of all products, ingredients (for allergens), and our family-inspired traditions. 2. Food Safety & Operational Excellence ● Safety Standards: Adhere to all health department regulations and Company safety rules to maintain a healthy work environment. ● Quality Control: Follow standardized recipes and portioning to ensure consistency in every bowl, pita, and salad. ● Food Handling: (Industry Standard) Execute strict food safety protocols including frequent handwashing, proper labeling/dating (FIFO), and monitoring food temperatures to prevent cross-contamination. ● Productivity: Complete daily prep lists, cleaning checklists, and restock stations with a sense of urgency and minimal supervision. 3. Professionalism & Performance ● Reliability: Report to work on time and ready to work when scheduled. Provide reasonable advance notice for any unavoidable absences or lateness. ● Uniform & Grooming: Report to work neatly groomed and in a clean, full Hummus Republic uniform. Fragrances must be used in moderation. ● Cell Phone Policy: Keep personal mobile devices off and stored away; use is strictly limited to nonworking time (breaks/meals) except in emergencies. ● Integrity: Maintain high standards of personal integrity and loyalty to the brand, including the protection of trade secrets and proprietary information like recipes and business strategies.
