The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: What You Will Do: Buyer • Controls the flow of incoming materials to efficiently meet manufacturing requirements, • Carries out procurement processes, standards, and operational plans, including RFPs, negotiation preparations, and cost analysis, • Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction, • Responds to value stream inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction, • Carries out activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services to ensure terms are in the organization’s best interest, • Prepares purchase orders, approves payments, and negotiates prices to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly, under general guidance, • Compiles price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to provide input on reasonable prices, • Monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, • Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries, • Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity, • Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost, • Performs delivery assurance responsibilities, • Develops and follows existing procedures, processes, and work instructions Planner • Provides production floor support, including replacement part management, shop floor material staging, Work in Progress (WIP) movement through shared resource areas, completion of units in shop floor and MRP system, delivery to next step (inventory or shipment), and meeting MRP schedule, • Maintains integrity of the shop floor, • Processes piece part movement to support internal build requirements through subcontractors and internal resources, • Redirects and/or re-establishes priorities, as required, in support of the Master Schedule, • Facilitates expedited material of critical part shortages to released work orders What You Will Bring: • BS degree and 2 years of experience in planning, scheduling, production control, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, finance, and/or project management or AS degree with 4 years of experience or equivalent experience, • MRP knowledge, • Experience in material and inventory control-type systems such as Kanban, SMI, Continuous Flow Manufacturing, etc., • Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts, • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) Pay Range: $68,000 to $72,000 per year Compensation decisions are made based on factors including experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors, in accordance with our internal pay structure. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan. Work Requirements: This role is considered an on-site position located in Troy, OH. • You must be able to commute to and from the location with your own transportation arrangements to meet the required working hours., • Shop floor environment, which may include but not limited to extensive walking, and ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
