Job Summary This Senior HR Manager serves as a key strategic and operational leader, responsible for the oversight and execution of HR activities across a multi-state, fast-paced, high-growth food safety sanitation company servicing food manufacturers and processors. This role provides direct leadership and guidance to Regional HRBPs and HR Coordinators, ensuring consistent, compliant, and effective delivery of HR services across all regions. The Senior HR Manager partners closely with the CHRO and organizational leadership to drive people strategy, strengthen company culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and build the HR infrastructure necessary to support continued organizational growth. Here's some of what you'll be doing: Leadership & Team Oversight • Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and strategic direction to Regional HRBPs and HR Coordinators fostering a collaborative, high-performing HR team, • Set performance expectations, conduct performance reviews, and support the professional development of HR team members, • Ensure consistent application of HR policies, practices, and standards across all regions, • Serve as the escalation point for complex employee relations matters, investigations, and general HR decisions, • Identify gaps in HR team capacity and capabilities; recommend and support staffing and structural solutions to meet organizational growth demands Performance Management • Coordinate, organize, guide, and continuously improve the employee performance review process across the organization, • Research and advise on market trends and best practices related to compensation and performance management strategies, • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance including coaching, counseling, career development, and termination support, • Partner with the leadership team on succession planning initiatives to identify and develop high-potential talent, • Collaborate with management to establish clear, measurable employee performance goals and expectations aligned with organizational objectives Employee Relations • Serve as the cultural ambassador for the organization, championing a positive, inclusive, and engaged workplace, • Promptly and thoroughly investigate and resolve employee grievances; provide guidance on company policies and procedures, • Partner with the leadership team to design and deliver meaningful employee recognition and rewards programs, • Coach and advise managers on employee-related matters including performance issues, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution, • Drive and develop company culture through employee engagement surveys, company events, personal development initiatives, and promotion of the organization's vision, mission, and guiding principles Employee Benefits • Oversee all aspects of employee benefits programs and administration, including evaluation and selection of insurance benefits, annual open enrollment, and compliance with ACA and other annual reporting requirements, • Research, recommend, and implement innovative and competitive benefit offerings to support recruiting and retention efforts in a high-growth environment, • Serve as primary liaison between benefits brokers, insurance carriers, and employees to ensure accurate and timely benefits administration Compliance & Regulatory • Oversee and ensure organizational compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and mandates including FMLA, FLSA, ADA, FCRA, Title VII, OSHA, and other relevant regulations across a multi-state operation (20+), • Develop, update, and maintain company policies, procedures, and the employee handbook, including state-specific addendums, • Oversee and manage leave of absence compliance, tracking, and administration, • Develop and maintain accurate, FLSA-compliant job descriptions for all positions across the organization, • Consult and coordinate with outside legal counsel as necessary on employment matters, • Oversee SMETA audit reporting, social compliance requirements, and customer reporting requirements Training & Development • Identify organizational training needs and coordinate and/or deliver training programs for employees and management, • Align employee career objectives with training initiatives to support effective career pathing and internal mobility, • Monitor and evaluate training program effectiveness and ROI, • Ensure HR team members meet continuing education requirements and maintain current knowledge of HR best practices and regulatory changes, • Develop and oversee onboarding programs that accelerate new hire integration and productivity Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning • Manage sourcing, recruiting, and interviewing candidates for corporate and manager job vacancies, • Serve as HR point of contact for leadership and corporate team member offer letters, onboarding and offboarding, • Partner with the CHRO and leadership team on workforce planning strategies to support rapid organizational growth, • Develop and refine recruiting processes, tools, and employer branding strategies to attract top talent in a competitive market, • Analyze turnover data and trends; develop and implement targeted retention strategies HR Systems, Reporting & Analytics • Oversee the utilization, optimization, and standardization, of Paycom and other HR systems across the HR team, ensuring alignment with best practices, • Establish and maintain HR reporting standards, including workforce analytics, turnover metrics, compliance dashboards, and customer-specific reporting, • Leverage data and analytics to identify trends, inform leadership decisions, and drive continuous improvement and across HR operations, • Oversight of payroll, garnishment administration, and related compliance activities as needed Here's who we're looking for: Required Education and/or Experience • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required, • Minimum of 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a senior HR management or leadership role, • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification, • Experience supporting a distributed, hourly, and multi-lingual workforce with an organization of 2000+ employees, • Demonstrated experience managing HR functions across multiple states, preferably 20+, • Proven track record managing and developing HR teams, • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, Title VII, OSHA, ACA, and E-Verify, • Experience overseeing benefits administration, performance management, and leave management programs, • Strong background in employee relations, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations, • Proven technical prowess with HR systems, technology & AI; Paycom experience strongly preferred, • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, fast-paced environment, • Proficiency in HR reporting and employee data analytics, • Experience working with or coordinating with employment counsel Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, • Experience in the food safety sanitation, food manufacturing, food processing, construction or manufacturing space, • Demonstrated experience leading HR through periods of rapid organizational growth or acquisition, • Familiarity with SMETA audits and social compliance reporting, • Experience working with QuickBase, • Bilingual in English and Spanish (spoken and written) strongly preferred, • Bilingual in French Creole (spoken and written) Success Factors (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development skills, • Ability to be flexible and to meet people where they are, • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable HR initiatives, • Strong knowledge of multi-state employment law and regulatory compliance, • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels of the organization, • High degree of discretion, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential matters, • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and lead through ambiguity in a fast-moving environment, • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions, • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy across all HR functions and documentation, • Proven ability to build scalable HR processes and infrastructure to support organizational growth This is an on-site role with up to 10% travel, as needed.
