Overview\n Intuit is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our dynamic team as dedicated year-round Business Tax Experts in one of our TurboTax Retail or Flagship locations across the United States. This unique opportunity combines tax expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and community engagement to help customers navigate their tax needs. As a TurboTax - Retail Business Tax Expert, you will serve as a trusted advisor, empowering customers to achieve positive financial outcomes while supporting Intuit’s mission of “Powering Prosperity Around the World.” \n \n About the Role: In this role, you will work on-site from a TurboTax Retail or Flagship location as part of a collaborative team of experts, serving in-person customers who use Intuit TurboTax products. \n Your primary focus will be full-service tax preparation for both consumers and all business entity types such as Sole Prop, PTEs (S corps and Partnerships), providing expert tax advice, planning services, and software support, but your responsibility extends beyond that. You will serve as the primary point of contact for your customers as their dedicated Expert, owning the overall relationship and delivering both tax strategy and tax preparation services. You will develop a deep understanding of each customer’s full financial picture and ensure they receive proactive, personalized guidance. \n As customer needs require additional expertise in bookkeeping, payroll, etc., you won’t work alone—behind you is a team of bookkeeping specialists who support core accounting functions like reconciliation, payroll, and day-to-day bookkeeping. While customers may occasionally interact directly with these experts for specific accounting needs, you remain the central relationship owner, ensuring continuity and a seamless experience across all services. \n Your ability to understand each customer's unique situation and connect with them on a personal level is critical. Taxes can be stressful, and your presence as a trusted, knowledgeable guide makes all the difference whether you're helping with a straightforward W-2 filing, navigating a major life event like marriage, a new child, or elder care, or tackling more complex scenarios involving business income, strategic planning, or quarterly business review. \n Additionally, you will play a key role in growing TurboTax’s client base within the local community, attracting new clients, establishing long-term relationships, and driving customer loyalty. You will leverage TurboTax marketing support and software to empower you in building a thriving business that fosters prosperity for both you and your community. \n \n This role is nonexempt and requires onsite presence at a TurboTax store in the United States. \n \n What You’ll Do: \n Provide Tax Expertise - Give hands-on tax advice and complete tax preparation services for TurboTax consumer and business clients, handling simple to complex tax situations (e.g., personal and business income, deductions optimization, amendments). Facilitate discovery sessions and tax reviews to uncover deductions, minimize tax liabilities, maximize refunds, and provide future tax planning advice. Utilize resources such as government websites, professional tools, and team expertise to deliver accurate tax solutions in personalized everyday language. \n \n Champion the Full Intuit Ecosystem - Act as a trusted guide for every client by developing a deep understanding of their complete financial picture and facilitating with the Intuit solutions best positioned to move them forward. As you build relationships through tax engagements and collaborative client meetings, identify opportunities to introduce clients to complementary services such as bookkeeping, payroll, financial planning, or Credit Karma services that meaningfully address their needs. Your role is not simply to deliver a service, but to ensure every client leaves with a clearer path and the full weight of Intuit's resources behind them for year-round support. \n \n Build Relationships - Connect with people, demonstrate understanding and sensitivity to their financial concerns and build the long-term trust that turns a one-time transaction into a loyal, multi-year relationship. \n \n Deliver a Best in Class Customer Experience - Create an exceptional customer experience, professionalism, and genuine interest in helping clients achieve their financial goals. Interact with customers both in-person and through Intuit’s state-of-the-art video communication tools. Address client inquiries while helping them overcome tax-related challenges. \n \n Be a Proactive Community Ambassador \n Enthusiastically represent TurboTax locally, serving as a fixture and public face of TurboTax in the community. \n Engage with new prospects, nurture leads, and convert prospects into long-term clients through proactive outreach. \n Lead and participate with the support of TurboTax in local marketing, making the topic of taxes accessible and approachable. \n \n What You Get: As a TurboTax - Retail Expert, you’ll receive access to exceptional company benefits and resources, including: \n 401(k) Savings Plan with company matching, paid sick time, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, E&O Insurance provided by Intuit, Employee Assistance Program \n discounts on Intuit products including a free copy of TurboTax, ongoing collaboration opportunities with TurboTax’s network of growth-minded professionals and marketing support \n \n Key Qualifications \n Who You Are: \n\n • Strong business tax preparation experience and extensive knowledge of tax laws as evidenced by 3 or more years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients/customers per season for compensation, using commercial tax preparation software.\n, • Minimum of 3 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with a minimum of 30 tax returns per tax year required, in a tax practice or retail setting, for compensation\n, • General knowledge/understanding of bookkeeping required. Bookkeeping experience with books to tax preparation is highly desired and/or willingness to upskill and become a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.\n, • Experience preparing Business Tax returns and providing year-round tax prep guidance for small businesses in particular is highly desired.\n, • Must possess or be able to obtain any related state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.\n, • Familiarity with Circular 230\n, • Must be comfortable working onsite at a TurboTax retail or flagship location, Sunday through Saturday, for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Operating hours are subject to change and will likely scale up during periods of peak customer demand\n, • Interest in building a local and online social presence as a TurboTax Expert, creating accessible tax-related content and resources for your community in accordance with Intuit’s policies\n, • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills are a plus\n, • Experience in holistic tax advisory services beyond tax filing\n, • Must be willing to wear a TurboTax Uniform\n, • Must be willing to work in a front facing retail environment\n\n \n Attributes & Skills: \n\n • Passionate about empowering customers and helping them overcome the complexities of taxation.\n, • Passionate about your local community and excited to work with Intuit to engage with and build Intuit’s presence in your local community (e.g., speaking at events, building a local and online social presence, creating content such as tax tips and educational videos). \n, • Entrepreneurial and self-driven with a business ownership mindset to grow your customer portfolio.\n, • Exceptional customer service skills, high empathy, and a friendly, professional demeanor.\n, • Excited to be showcased as a TurboTax Expert in local and national marketing efforts.\n, • Strong verbal and written communication skills.\n, • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently while managing multiple priorities.\n, • Proficient with technology, including tax preparation software and CRM/sales tools.\n\n \n Additional Requirements: \n Must reside within the United States. \n Must possess or be able to obtain any related State licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds. \n \n Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach.
