Bring weird, beautiful, brilliant game ideas to life – end to end. 📍 Hybrid – 3 days on-site (mandatory) 💼 Full-time or Freelance 🎯 3–5+ years designing games | Mid to Senior About the Role We're looking for a designer-builder hybrid – someone who can take a raw idea and turn it into a playable, surprising, finished game. Not a paper designer. Not a pure programmer. A creative force who has shipped at least one full game and knows what it takes to design a project end-to-end: concept, mechanics, systems, feel, art direction, and the small thousand decisions in between. If you're entrepreneurial, opinionated about what makes games good, and you'd rather build than talk about building – keep reading. What You'll Do 🕹️ Own game concepts end-to-end – from one-line pitch to vertical slice to shipped prototype ⚙️ Design the core loop: mechanics, systems, progression, economy, feel ⚡ Prototype fast and break things – kill bad ideas early, double down on what's fun 🤝 Collaborate with a small team (or work solo when needed) and wear multiple hats without complaining about it 🎨 Define the creative vision: art direction, tone, narrative beats, audio mood – even when you're not the one executing every piece 🤖 Use AI tooling aggressively to ship faster: vibe coding, asset generation, rapid iteration. Must-Haves ✅ 3–5+ years of hands-on experience designing video games (studio, indie, or both) ✅ At least one shipped game you designed 360° – mechanics, systems, feel, the whole thing. Released, jam-finalist, demo on Steam/itch.io, or comparable ✅ Entrepreneurial mindset – you make decisions, you ship, you don't wait for permission ✅ Strong design taste: you can articulate why a game feels good or doesn't, and back it up with examples ✅ Creative range: we care more about cool, weird, original designs than résumé prestige ✅ Working portfolio – playable links, design docs, postmortems, devlogs, or jam entries we can actually look at. Highly Valued 🥽 AR / VR game design experience. Spatial design, presence, comfort, immersive interaction – if you've shipped or prototyped for Quest, Vision Pro, PSVR, or comparable platforms, we want to hear about it. Highly valued. 🤖 Vibe Coding experience (demonstrable). If you can ship working game features by collaborating with AI coding agents – Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar – show us what you've built. Major plus. 🎬 2D or 3D animation skills – character animation, juice, game feel, VFX. Whatever brings games to life. 💻 Coding chops in Unity, Unreal, Godot, or comparable engines. Not looking for a senior engineer, but you should be dangerous enough to prototype your own ideas. Nice-to-Haves (Optional) ✨ Demonstrable GenAI experience for asset creation – image, 3D, audio, animation pipelines. Show us a workflow, not just a buzzword 🚀 Experience publishing on Steam, consoles, or mobile 🎮 Background in game jams (Ludum Dare, GMTK, etc.) or self-published indie work 📣 Community-building skills: devlogs, social presence, ability to talk publicly about the work 🎵 Audio design or composition – bonus points if you make your own music. How We Work 🔹 Small, fast, scrappy. Few meetings, lots of building. 🔹 Open to full-time or freelance. We adapt to the right person, not the other way around. 🔹 Hybrid model: 3 days on-site per week (mandatory), the rest remote. We believe great games are built shoulder-to-shoulder – sketching at whiteboards, playtesting together, riffing on bad ideas until they get good. 🔹 AI-native workflows. We expect you to use the best tools available – and help us improve our pipeline. How to Apply Send us links – not just a CV. We want to play your games, read your design docs, watch your devlogs, see your jam entries, look at your animation reels. A short note explaining what you designed, what you learned, and what you'd build next if money were no object goes a long way. If you have vibe-coded prototypes or AI-generated asset pipelines to show, lead with those.
