We are hiring Java Application Support Engineers (Level 3) to join our team in Madrid (central Madrid). You will support a leading Swiss private‐banking organisation operating in 25+ countries, currently undergoing a major global digital transformation. The Project You'll join an international private‐banking environment where you will act as the highest technical escalation point for critical core banking applications . You will handle complex incidents, deep‐dive analysis, RCA, automation, lock resolution, and collaborate closely with development and architecture teams. What we're looking for We are seeking an experienced Application Support Engineer with strong analytical skills and ownership. We value: • 3+ years of experience in application support (L2/L3), ideally in L3 functions, • Strong background in Linux/Unix , troubleshooting, and shell scripting, • Solid ability to interpret Java logs , stack traces, exceptions, and application behaviour, • Experience supporting Java-based applications in production, • Proficiency in SQL , MySQL & PostgreSQL, with strong understanding of data models and relational structures, • Experience managing database locks : identification, decision making (wait/kill/escalate), and automation, • Experience with pipelines / CI-CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.), • Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments and international distributed teams, • ITIL Foundation, • Previous experience in banking (CRM, account opening, CLM, or similar), • Strong communication skills, autonomy, and ability to lead technical investigations, • Act as Level 2/3 escalation point for critical core banking applications, • Investigate and resolve complex incidents using Java log analysis, SQL, and system diagnostics, • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and propose prevention measures, • Identify and resolve lock issues , automate repetitive tasks and create stable operational procedures, • Analyse application behaviour end‐to‐end across backend, middleware, and database layers, • Collaborate closely with development, QA, architecture, and service owners, • Participate xcskxlj in releases and deployments : pre‐checks, deployment steps, troubleshooting, post‐validation, • Create automation scripts and improvements to reduce manual effort, • Maintain knowledge base, documentation, and runbooks Hybrid model: 3 days onsite (central Madrid) + 2 days remote 23 vacation days, plus December 24th and 31st as additional holidays Flexible working hours Flexible compensation package: gympass, meal vouchers, transport, childcare, medical insurance Continuous learning and access to training platforms (including language courses) Employee discount portal International project If you are interested, please apply.
