GENERAL DESCRIPTION We are seeking a motivated Power Engineer to join Ocean Wind Corporate team. In this role, you will support the design and analysis of electrical systems that connect our offshore wind farms to the grid. Working closely with experienced engineers, you will gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle from early concept and feasibility studies through detailed design and project execution to Operation and Maintenance stage. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow your technical expertise in offshore wind power systems, grid integration, and renewable energy project development, and being able to learn from other engineers, expertise in other disciplines. You will collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and bankable design solutions that align with project and grid requirements. MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES • Support Electrical System Design: Develop and review electrical system configurations for offshore wind farms, including inter-array networks, offshore substations, export cables, and grid connection interfaces., • Power System Studies: Perform load flow, short circuit, harmonic, and dynamic stability studies using software tools (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, ETAP, PSS/E). In house, we have DigSilent, so the experience on this tool is a required., • Data Analysis & Modelling: Help collect, organize, and process electrical data for design studies and reports., • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare and maintain design documentation, calculations, and technical reports to support design reviews and permitting., • Grid Compliance Support: Assist in assessing project compliance with transmission and distribution grid codes., • Specification & Procurement: Support and review technical specifications for key electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, cables, protection and control systems) and support tender evaluation and vendor selection as part of the outcome of the electrical studies., • Interface Support: Participate in technical discussions with other teams, such as turbine department or grid connection team., • Project Development Support: Provide electrical input to project development activities including cost estimation, risk assessments, and value engineering, • Standards & Learning: Apply relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, CIGRE) and continuously develop knowledge of offshore wind electrical systems., • Safety & Quality: Promote high standards of safety, technical quality, and sustainability in all work., • Innovation & Optimization: Contribute to R&D initiatives in different electrical technologies, this could be part also of the interface support. ACADEMIC BACKGROUND Master or PhD Degree in Electrical or Power Engineering (or equivalent). LANGUAGES Candidates need to be fluent in English both spoken and written. The Company has an international team of employees, and the working language is English. Other languages will be highly valued. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Essential: • 2–3 years of professional experience in electrical engineering or a related field (renewables energy or power systems)., • Familiarity and experience with PowerFactory/DigSilent, as the electrical software tool used in house. Any other additional analysis software tool would be well valued., • Good understanding of electrical codes and safety standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE)., • Eagerness to learn and develop within the renewable energy sector., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Desirable: • Good understanding of power system design, protection, and grid connection principles., • Experience supporting senior engineers in drafting technical documentation, schematics, and layout designs., • Good level of knowledge related to electrical systems design, testing, or maintenance in HV systems., • Experience supporting senior engineers in drafting technical documentation, schematics, and layout designs., • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities., • Awareness of grid code requirements and offshore project development processes., • Enthusiasm for innovation and sustainability OTHER REQUIREMENTS Location is in Madrid (HQ).
