You will play an active role in the daily operations of the department, supporting the Director in leading, mentoring, and educating the engineering team. This role is a hybrid of hands‑on technical work and high‑level management, ensuring that all guest‑facing and back‑of‑house systems—from luxury suites to central cooling plants—run without interruption. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liTeam Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise a multi‑skilled team of technicians, electricians, and plumbers. Managers must coordinate shifts, delegate work orders, and conduct performance reviews. /li liCMMS Utilization: Use Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (e.g., SAP PM, Maximo) to track work orders, asset performance, and maintenance history. /li liDaily Operational Supervision: Manage the distribution and timely completion of work orders. This includes overseeing repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, laundry equipment, and kitchen facilities. /li liEnergy Sustainability Management: Track energy and water consumption and implement resource‑saving initiatives to meet hotel sustainability goals. /li liDaily Maintenance Oversight: Direct and inspect the daily work of technicians and maintenance staff across guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas. /li liEmergency Response: Act as the primary lead for guest Service Excellence: Promptly address guest repair requests and monitor guest satisfaction scores to improve departmental performance, including critical system failures (e.g., power outages, elevator issues, or plumbing leaks). /li liGuest Service Excellence: Promptly address guest repair requests and monitor guest satisfaction scores to improve departmental performance. /li liSupport the implementation of safety procedures such as Fire, Life, Health, Safety, and Security, Emergency, and Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group standards. /li liAssist in the identification and coordination of outsourced engineering companies and services. /li liAssist in developing and executing preventative maintenance programs according to Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group guidelines. /li liSupport the People Culture Team in recruitment, employee development programs, labour cost management, community initiatives, and employee evaluation and recognition. /li liAssist the ITT Director in telecommunications upgrades, annual maintenance of contingency systems, and testing of emergency power systems as per Mandarin Oriental guidelines. /li liProvide support to the Operations team with training and demonstrations on various systems like key systems, audiovisual equipment, lighting, and temperature control systems. /li liConduct regular inspections of all front and back‑of‑house areas to ensure quality and standards are maintained. /li liEnsure all technical documents, drawings, and manuals are updated in case of changes. /li liMaintain up‑to‑date certifications, test reports, inspections, and maintenance records in a well‑organised manner. /li liBe fully familiar with all technical details of the hotel’s plant and services to provide support and ensure standards are upheld. /li liAssist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates related to engineering functions. /li liActively contribute to energy conservation efforts and assist with energy control measures. /li liMaintain contact with local authorities and government departments (Fire Service, Electrical and Mechanical Service, Water Supply, etc.) to ensure compliance and to seek advice or assistance when necessary. /li liPromote and support MOHG’s Fire, Life, Health, Safety, and Security guidelines across all relevant areas. /li /ul h3As Engineering Manager, We Expect From You /h3 h3Experience and Education /h3 ul liBachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably in areas such as Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Renewable Energy Engineering). /li liMinimum of 3 years of experience in engineering or facilities management, preferably within luxury hospitality. /li liExperience in pre‑opening projects and resorts is a plus. /li /ul h3Technical Skills /h3 ul liGood knowledge of major building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and energy management systems. /li liProficiency in office automation tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and other relevant software. /li liExcellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish. /li liStrong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. /li liAttention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of quality. /li liProblem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues. /li liAbility to work well within a team and to support senior management in engineering operations. /li liKnowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations within a hotel or similar setting. /li liFlexibility to support emergency operations and adapt to changing demands in a fast‑paced environment. /li /ul h3Our Commitment to You /h3 ul liLearning Development.
