Job Overview: The Café Manager/Barista will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the café while also working as an expert barista. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about coffee, customer service, and team management. You’ll be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining high standards of quality, and creating a positive and fun environment for both customers and staff. Responsibilities: Café Management 1. Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and maintaining a high standard of service. 2. Lead and manage a small team of baristas, kitchen staff, and front-of-house personnel. 3. Handle scheduling, shift planning, and staffing to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours. 4. Manage inventory and ordering, ensuring stock levels of coffee, food, and supplies are maintained. 5. Oversee cash handling, daily financials, and end-of-day reports. 6. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations. 7. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Barista Duties 1. Key Qualifications: Experience - At least 2+ years of experience in a managerial role within a café or hospitality setting, with strong barista skills (latte art). Coffee Expertise - Proven experience as a barista with knowledge of specialty coffee, equipment maintenance, and coffee brewing techniques. Leadership Skills - Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment. Organizational Skills - Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Customer Service - A passion for providing excellent customer service and creating an inviting café experience. Language - Fluency in both English and Spanish is required. Key Responsibilities: Drink Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve drinks in accordance with recipes and customer preferences. Provide recommendations and suggestions on drink selections. Ensure the bar is fully stocked with all necessary supplies and ingredients. Maintain an updated knowledge of drink trends, new products, and menu changes. Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and engage in conversation to create a welcoming atmosphere. Take and serve drink orders promptly and accurately.
