The Company Dominic Taylor, known to many as the winner of Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef will be reviving his well-loved Caribbean dining concept, The Good Front Room at a brand new permanent site in Dalston Square in early 2026. Chef Dom first showcased his elevated Caribbean cuisine at the five star Langham Hotel in 2023 as part of the TV show. Following this successful residency, Dom is now taking his signature style to East London, offering his fresh, modern interpretations of classic Caribbean dishes to a wider audience. Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead our team and oversee daily operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive restaurant experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality service to ensure the success of our establishment. Site opening experience is essential as this is a new operation. Duties • Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including events, sales and serving processes, • Supervise and manage staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations, • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, • Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and controlling costs to optimise profitability, • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency, • Lead by example in delivering excellent hospitality experiences to guests, • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food production and quality standards are met, • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly to maintain customer satisfaction, • Monitor sales performance and develop strategies for growth, • Work on building relationships with local residents, creating a community feel and reaching out to local businesses. Experience • 3 years + management experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment, • Extensive restaurant experience with a strong understanding of food safety and food production processes, • Background in culinary arts or kitchen experience is highly desirable, • Experience in team management, leadership roles, and staff development, • Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and hospitality standards, • Previous hotel or barista experience is advantageous but not essential, • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting, • This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual passionate about hospitality management.
