Location: Elstree / Borehamwood (Depot Base)
Work Area: Across London and Hertfordshire
Starting Salary: £29,741.40 per annum for ages 21+
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 18:00 (Approx. 180 hours per month)

The Role

We are recruiting a reliable Van Driver to join our team based in Elstree/Borehamwood. In this role, you won't just be behind the wheel—you will partner with an experienced drainage engineer, driving them to various jobs across London and Hertfordshire, and stepping in as a drainage assistant on site. We provide full training for the assistant duties, so no previous drainage experience is required. We are simply looking for the right attitude, a willingness to help out your teammate, and reliability above all else.

Requirements:

• You must hold a valid Category B driving licence.
• Comfortable assisting with manual tasks on-site when you aren't driving.

What You Will Learn & Do

You will be trained in specialist drainage operations, including:

• CCTV Drain Surveys: Operating camera equipment to inspect pipe conditions.
• No-Dig Repairs: Learning how to repair drains without the need for excavation (lining/patching).
• Pipe Cleaning: Using high-pressure water jetting and mechanical tools to clear blockages and scale.
• Drain Mapping: Locating and tracing drainage systems.
• Site Mapping: Drawing hand-sketched site plans to show drain locations for the office team.

Vehicle & Parking Logistics

• Depot-Based Start/Finish: You will start and end every shift at the Elstree depot.
• Company Vehicle Policy: Company vehicles cannot be taken home. These vehicles operate on a 24-hour cycle and must return to the depot daily.
• Secure Parking: You will park your own vehicle in the company van’s designated space when you leave for the day, ensuring you have a guaranteed parking spot upon your return.

Requirements

• Driving Licence & Experience: Full UK Driving Licence is essential. Minimum 2 years driving experience.
• Points: Preference for a clean licence (0 points). We may consider up to 3 points maximum.

Driving Confidence:

• Must be confident driving a large white company van.
• Must be confident parking in London. You will be manoeuvring into tight spaces in busy areas.

Drawing & Sketching Ability:

• Beneficial: You must be able to draw/sketch clear, legible site maps by hand. This is vital so the internal office team can understand the layout of the drains you have located.
• Safety Footwear: You must supply your own steel-toe capped boots.
• Reliability: Punctual and committed to the 8am–6pm schedule.
