Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) – Blackburn We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Blackburn. This is a full-time position, starting after the May half term. Key Details: Location: Blackburn Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday Pay: £14.30 per hour Start Date: After May half term About the Role: You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, with a strong focus on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role may involve working 1:1 or with small groups, helping students access learning and develop socially and emotionally. Responsibilities: Provide tailored support for pupils with ASD in the classroom Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to deliver individual education plans (IEPs) Implement strategies to support communication, behaviour, and sensory needs Encourage engagement, independence, and positive behaviour Offer emotional and social support throughout the school day Requirements: Relevant qualification in education, childcare, or SEN support (essential) Proven experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) A patient, understanding, and proactive approach Strong communication and teamwork skills Knowledge of ASD strategies and interventions (desirable) What We Offer: Competitive hourly rate of £14.30 Supportive and inclusive school environment Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in pupils’ lives Ongoing professional development opportunities If you have the skills, qualifications, and passion to support children with ASD, we would love to hear from you.
