This is a new, full-time, permanent opportunity. About the School Located in rural Horsham, the school provides a highly supportive and structured learning environment for autistic pupils. Teachers with experience in mainstream education who are eager to develop their career within SEN and ASD specialist education are very welcome to apply. The Role You will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Lessons are taught in small classes of up to five students, supported by experienced Teaching Assistants. The English department is well-resourced, established and carefully maintained, enabling you to focus on high-quality teaching and individualised learning. Key Responsibilities • Plan and deliver English lessons tailored to individual needs, • Create a disciplined, safe and stimulating learning environment, • Demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to working with autistic pupils, • Manage behaviour effectively using positive strategies, • Monitor, assess and accurately record student progress, • Promote a culture of high expectations and aspiration for all students The Ideal Candidate • Strong subject knowledge in English, • A genuine interest in SEN and ASD education, • High levels of motivation, resilience and enthusiasm, • Effective classroom and behaviour management skills, • Willingness to learn and develop within a specialist educational setting If you have relevant experience and subject knowledge, please apply with your CV.
