Role - Nursery Room Leader \n Location - Portsmouth \n Salary: £28.5K \n Core Benefits \n\n • 33 days annual leave including bank holidays, with 3 days used during the Christmas shutdown period\n, • Christmas and New Year shutdown\n, • Flexible working options available\n, • Big childcare discount\n, • £500 refer-a-friend bonus\n, • Company pension scheme with employer contributions\n, • Statutory Sick Pay from day 1\n, • Life assurance for employees aged 18 to 65\n, • Certified Great Place to Work, voted for by our current colleagues\n\n We are now hiring for Nursery Room Leader in Portsmouth, UK for a major chain of nurseries. \n This client’s benefits are unrivalled in the industry, and they pride themselves on providing a positive working environment with a focus on growth and development for all employees. \n Join a supportive, child-focused nursery offering strong benefits, flexible working and genuine career progression. \n \n The successful Nursery Room Leader will be responsible for the following duties: \n\n • Minimum of 2–3 years' experience working in a nursery or early years setting\n, • Prior experience in a senior, supervisory, or room leader role preferred\n, • Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and current childcare legislation\n, • Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)\n, • Safeguarding/Child Protection training\n, • Strong understanding of child development stages and safe practices\n, • Experience conducting observations, assessments, and progress reports\n, • Good communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with children, parents, and staff\n, • Enhanced DBS check (or equivalent background check) required\n, • Leadership or team management experience is an advantage\n\n What You Will Be Doing as a Nursery Room Leader \n\n • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery\n, • Support and supervise playroom staff with their day-to-day duties\n, • Deploy staff appropriately to ensure that the required standards are delivered and maintained within the rooms\n, • Ensure the effective implementation of the nursery keycarer procedures and allocate children to keycarers appropriately\n, • Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)\n, • Provide professional, relevant feedback to parents and carers about their child\n, • Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers\n, • Develop open and positive working relationships with staff\n, • Ensure that all staff develop and maintain friendly, professional relationships with parents and carers\n\n Apply today.
