    As a Welder, you will support production by welding piece parts and sub-assemblies using a range of welding techniques in accordance with specifications, engineering drawings, work instructions and quality standards. What you will do: • Carry out welding of components in line with specifications, drawings and procedures, • Obtain authorisation from the Welding Engineer or Welding Specialist before undertaking coded welding, • Set up and prepare weld surfaces and equipment, • Ensure all welding equipment is inspected and calibrated prior to use, • Monitor consumables and support stock control activities, • Maintain rod stores and record temperature/humidity levels in line with procedures, • Log work using ERP systems (e.g. Epicor) to maintain booking compliance, • Meet production routing times and customer requirements, • Maintain high standards of quality, health & safety and housekeeping (5S), • Adhere to all Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental procedures, • Support continuous improvement and Lean initiatives Rotating Shift Pattern • Week 1: 06:00 - 14:15, • Week 2: 14:15 - 22:30 What you will need: • Time served welding apprenticeship, • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a coded welder in an engineering environment, • Ability to weld to coded standards and maintain coded welder certification, • Ability to weld open-root pipe or plate using TIG (GTAW), MMA/SMAW and MAG (GMAW) processes, • Ability to work with carbon and stainless steels across a range of thicknesses, • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding procedures, • Coded welding qualifications against approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and applicable standards, such as ISO, ASME or AWS, • Experience of welding work subject to inspection using UT, RT or other non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, • Experience in a manufacturing environment involving pressure vessels or piping systems, including critical components welded to recognised standards, • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, • Experience in brazing is essential; hands-on experience in torch or induction brazing would be desirable As part of the interview process, applicants will be asked to weld test pieces to demonstrate their practical skills.     HGV Technician / HGV Fitter PRBS Limited is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable HGV Technician to join our busy workshop in Leighton Buzzard. We maintain our own mixed fleet of commercial vehicles, trailers and specialist transport equipment, while also providing repair and maintenance services for external customers. Working Hours • Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 18:00, • Alternate Saturdays: 08:00 – 13:00, • Overtime available when required. Your Responsibilities • Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs, trailers and light commercial vehicles., • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults., • Carrying out inspections and preventative maintenance., • Preparing vehicles and trailers for MOT., • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and workshop safety., • Completing work on both company vehicles and customer vehicles. What We're Looking For • Experience as an HGV Technician, • Newly qualified Level 3 HGV Technicians are encouraged to apply – full support and development will be provided., • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, or a willingness to learn., • Ability to work independently and as part of a team., • A positive attitude with pride in producing quality work., • Full UK driving licence essential., • A Class 1 (Category C+E) licence would be a distinct advantage, but is not essential.
