Personal Assistant to the Managing Director Location: Laindon, Essex (Office-Based, Monday-Friday) Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Benefits The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced Personal Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support to a Managing Director within a successful engineering and manufacturing business based in Laindon. This is a key position for a highly organised, proactive, and professional individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You'll become a trusted right-hand to the Managing Director, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day business activities while handling highly confidential information with discretion. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke filling and packaging machinery, supplying customers across a range of industries including pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and manufacturing. This is a fully office-based role, working Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities • Provide confidential, one-to-one support to the Managing Director., • Manage a busy and ever-changing diary, prioritising meetings and resolving scheduling conflicts., • Organise meetings, prepare agendas, presentations and supporting documentation., • Manage emails, correspondence and follow-up actions on behalf of the Managing Director., • Arrange UK and international travel, accommodation and detailed itineraries., • Prepare, format and proofread reports, presentations and business documents., • Act as a professional point of contact for customers, suppliers and internal departments., • Attend meetings where required, producing accurate minutes and tracking actions., • Coordinate corporate events, exhibitions, conferences and business functions., • Organise hospitality, refreshments and meeting facilities., • Process expense claims accurately and within deadlines., • Maintain an organised and professional working environment., • Support a positive, collaborative culture across the business. About You We're looking for someone who can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You will ideally have: • Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or Executive Assistant supporting senior leadership., • Excellent organisational and time management skills., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality., • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative., • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy., • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint., • Experience arranging travel, meetings and corporate events., • Confident communication skills when dealing with senior stakeholders, customers and suppliers., • Typing speed of approximately 40-60 words per minute.
