We’re looking for a skilled and confident barista to join our friendly team at WE Café, right in the city centre of Sunderland. We’re a small independent café serving specialty coffee, sandwiches and light deli-style food. If you love coffee and take pride in what you serve — this is for you. You must already be comfortable using a semi-automatic espresso machine, adjusting grind, extracting espresso, and steaming milk with smooth texture and consistency. If you can make flat whites, cappuccinos and lattes properly (not by guesswork!) — we’d love to have you. This is a barista-led role — coffee is your main focus. But we’re a small café, so we all help out with taking orders, handling the till, preparing sandwiches and salads, and keeping things clean and organised. No coffee training is provided — we’re after someone already confident behind the machine. ⸻ Requirements • Proven barista experience in an independent or specialty café, • Skilled with espresso extraction & milk texturing, • Reliable, organised and calm under pressure, • Friendly, respectful and tidy, • £12.80 – £13.00 per hour (depending on experience), • Staff discounts on food & drinks, • Supportive, fair and respectful workplace, • Training for menu prep (non-coffee tasks only) If you’re a true craft barista looking for a relaxed but professional café to work in — message us or send your CV today.
