Role Overview As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you will provide person-centered care and support to clients in their own homes, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life. You will be responsible for assisting with daily living activities, promoting well-being, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for those in your care. Main Duties and Responsibilities Deliver high-quality care and support to clients in accordance with individual care plans. Assist with personal care tasks, including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility. Support with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration. Administer medication as directed (following appropriate training). Carry out light domestic duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients. Monitor and report changes in clients health or circumstances to the care manager. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required. Promote independence, choice, and dignity at all times. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safeguarding protocols. Person Specification Essential: Genuine passion for caring for others. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable, trustworthy, and respectful. Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends. Right to work in the UK. Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (preferred, but not essential). Desirable: Previous experience in a care or support role. Relevant care qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care). Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, and infection control. Working Hours Various shifts available, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. Both part-time and full-time positions considered. Each home is set in a rural location and offers a comfortable homely environment for young males aged 13-18 years. We are looking for Residential Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis. We aim to help young people to develop insight into their experiences in order that they can move on from their often damaged traumatic past. We support them as they take steps to make sense of their lives by providing clear and safe boundaries and achievable goals. To be flexible within working practices of the home e.g. To help, where needed, including undertaking domestic tasks within the home, which will include preparation of meals, cleaning, shopping etc. Work alongside the Manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the home is fulfilled. To keep clear and legible records regarding the young people. To ensure that entries in records are legible, clearly expressed, non-stigmatising and distinguished as far as possible between fact, opinion and third-party information Essential skills: The ideal candidate would have previous experience of working with teenage boys or challenging behaviour and have a willingness to further develop their skills. You must hold a driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Due to the rural location of our services public transport would not be a viable option Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent You would need to be willing to engage the young people in a wide range of activities and support them through their time at Apple Orchard; guiding them towards Independence and Adulthood. You will need to be flexible with your working hours and be able to work a mixture of days, evenings and weekends.
