Verification & Validation Engineer – Security Cleared (Space Industry) Location: Commutable distance to Luton / Stevenage Clearance: Must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC or higher) Employment Type: Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced Verification and Validation (V&V) Engineer to join a leading organisation within the space and satellite sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in the end-to-end verification and validation of complex spacecraft systems, ensuring that design, functionality, and performance meet customer and mission requirements. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams across Systems Engineering, Integration & Test, and Quality to deliver high-assurance verification strategies and test campaigns on cutting-edge space programmes. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute verification and validation plans, strategies, and procedures for spacecraft subsystems and systems., • Define and manage requirements traceability, ensuring complete coverage from system-level specifications through to final test results., • Support test readiness reviews, qualification, and acceptance testing activities., • Participate in integration, environmental testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, EMC), and system-level validation., • Analyse test data and produce verification reports, test summaries, and compliance matrices., • Work collaboratively with design and systems teams to identify, investigate, and resolve anomalies., • Ensure all V&V activities comply with project, customer, and regulatory standards (e.g., ECSS, DOORS, ISO). Essential Skills & Experience • Active UK Security Clearance (SC or higher) – essential., • Proven experience as a Verification & Validation Engineer, Test Engineer, or Systems Engineer within the space, satellite, or aerospace sector., • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycles, including requirements management and validation methodologies., • Experience with tools such as IBM DOORS, MATLAB, or similar for requirements traceability and data analysis., • Hands-on experience in hardware/software integration and system testing., • Knowledge of space industry standards (ECSS, ESA processes, etc.)., • Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills., • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities. Desirable • Experience with payloads, avionics, or propulsion systems., • Exposure to environmental test facilities and automated test systems., • Degree-qualified in Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
