Overview In this role you will lead the Trust’s operational performance improvement across a portfolio of services, focusing on constitutional standards, elective recovery and key access targets. You will provide senior leadership to translate improvement plans into actionable operational steps and collaborate with divisional teams to enhance data quality, pathway management and capacity utilisation. You will drive performance recovery initiatives, monitor risks, and support delivery of timely, high-quality patient care. This role centers on maintaining strong operational grip over waiting lists and demand, contributing to the Trust’s recovery ambitions. ResponsibilitiesLead performance improvement and recovery activity across a defined portfolio of services to achieve operational standardsDevelop, coordinate and monitor recovery plans aligned to Trust objectivesOversee PTL management, pathway validation, clock stop accuracy and escalation of performance risksSupport control rooms and operational grip to address vacancies, backlog risks and deteriorating performanceAnalyse complex performance data and translate into actionable recommendations for operational and executive audiencesEnsure accurate, timely reporting to support improvement prioritiesLead projects related to elective recovery, access improvement, backlog reduction, validation, and capacityBuild relationships with divisional leaders and clinical/corporate teams to secure engagementDeputise for Head of Operational Performance as needed Key requirements5+ years of senior management experience, preferably in healthcareMaster in relevant subject or equivalent experienceProven track record delivering performance improvement and recovery against targetsExperience working across organisational boundaries with clinical and operational teamsAbility to analyse and interpret complex data to inform decision-makingContinued professional development and exposure to change management practicesDesirable: PRINCE2/Managing Successful Programmes or Agile experience and advanced data visualization skillsAnalytical and problem-solving prowessStrong organizational abilities and deadline orientationClear and influential communication; ability to present complex information simplyAbility to perform under pressure and meet challenging targetsAdvanced Excel / data visualization skillsData interpretation and reporting to senior audiences
