The Catering Department operates 365 days a year and we are looking for individuals who can work 12 hours per week, between 16:00 and 20:00, with alternate weekends. Each shift is 4 hours. • Plate up meals and transport them to patient wards., • Clear down trolleys and equipment in preparation for the next service., • Make sandwiches and deliver food to wards., • Maintain vending machines., • Serve staff and visitors in the dining room and café., • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and safety standards., • Work both independently and as part of a team., • Handle cash and card payments where required., • Adapt to a busy, pressure‑intensive environment., • Education & qualification: Basic food hygiene certificate (or commitment to obtain within a set timeframe) and basic literacy & numeracy skills., • Experience & knowledge: Good understanding of HACCP, COSH, and Health and Safety legislation; previous catering experience., • Skills & abilities: Good customer care and communication; able to work alone or in a team; able to work under pressure., • Personal qualities: Self‑motivated with reliable attendance and timekeeping; able to work without supervision; adaptable to change; polite and friendly manner; flexible approach to working hours and duties; interest in cooking/catering; able to work in a hospital ward environment., • Additional payments in the form of enhancements for working weekends and bank holidays.
