A well-established professional services firm is seeking to recruit an HR Officer to support the day-to-day delivery of HR across the business. This is a varied, hands-on role at the heart of the business, supporting colleagues and managers across multiple departments and helping ensure people processes are consistent, compliant, and effectively managed. This role is also open to part-time applications. The Role Reporting to and working under the direction of the Operations Director, you will provide practical day-to-day HR support across the full employee lifecycle. You will work within established policies and procedures, providing first-line guidance on routine HR matters while escalating complex, high-risk, or non-routine issues to senior leadership and/or external advisers for direction and approval. The role does not carry final decision-making authority for employee relations matters. Responsibilities include: • Maintaining an up-to-date understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices to support compliant processes., • Providing first-line HR guidance to managers and employees on routine matters in line with company policy, escalating where necessary., • Monitoring regulatory or legislative developments and supporting updates to HR policies, templates, and procedures., • Coordinating recruitment activities, including drafting job descriptions and adverts, managing candidate communications, scheduling interviews, and supporting offer processes., • Managing onboarding and induction administration, including pre-employment checks such as right-to-work verification., • Supporting employee relations matters by preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, taking notes where appropriate, and ensuring matters are handled consistently and confidentially., • Managing absence administration through HR systems, ensuring records are accurate and managers receive appropriate support., • Supporting annual leave and other leave administration, ensuring records remain current., • Maintaining accurate employee records, including contracts, salary review letters, and general HR correspondence., • Supporting performance and development processes such as probation reviews, appraisals, training records, and professional development tracking., • Assisting with policy administration and updates, ensuring employees have access to current documentation., • Supporting employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives, including internal events, communications, and recognition activities., • Using Microsoft 365 tools to improve HR administration and workflow efficiency., • Carrying out additional duties aligned with the needs of the business and the level of the role. About You This role would suit someone who is organised, approachable, and comfortable working in a professional environment where confidentiality and attention to detail are essential. You will ideally: • Be part or fully qualified to Level 3 CIPD., • Have previous experience in an HR role, with confidence handling a broad range of HR queries., • Be calm and professional when managing sensitive situations, adapting communication style to different audiences., • Balance empathy with consistency and professionalism when responding to HR matters., • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively., • Communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing., • Be practical and solutions-focused, taking ownership of tasks through to completion., • Have strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools., • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation., • Enjoy contributing to a collaborative and positive workplace culture., • Understand employment law and best practice, with confidence in recognising when specialist guidance is required.
