Location: Peterborough Department: Service – Aftermarket Contract: Permanent Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00–16:30) Role Overview Customer-facing Service Engineer responsible for diagnostics, servicing, and repair of construction, agricultural, industrial, and recycling equipment within the dealership territory. Deliver high standards of workmanship and world-class customer service while building strong client relationships and liaising with manufacturers. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain, and repair diesel generator sets and plant machinery Conduct site surveys, installations, commissioning, and load banking Perform emergency breakdown callouts Control system wiring and PLC/Deep Sea/Deif programming Attend product training courses Work flexibly, including unsociable hours when required Requirements NVQ Level 2 (minimum) in Plant Engineering/Servicing & Maintenance Mechanical/Electrical engineering background (18th Edition beneficial) Experience with hydraulics, transmissions, axles, cam-bus systems, and heavy plant machinery Strong diagnostic and technical skills; able to work independently Professional customer-facing skills Clean UK driving licence and right to work in the UK Must live within 30 minutes of the depot Skills & Attributes Strong communication and teamwork Good time management and problem-solving skills Commercial awareness and adaptability Self-motivated with a proactive approach Benefits Competitive pay + overtime (enhanced rates) Company van, fuel card, tools, uniform, and mobile device Pension scheme and life assurance (4x salary) 22 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service) Sick pay scheme Private medical (contributory) & health support services Employee assistance programme & retail discounts Training and career progression opportunities Employee referral bonus scheme
