DSEAR Technical Assistant Location: Anglian Water Region-Wide Contract: Permanent Salary: 30000 - 35000 Support a Safer More Resilient Future with Anglian Water Are you highly organised with strong technical administrative skills and a desire to help drive safety compliance across critical infrastructure Do you enjoy working with data documentation and cross-functional teams to keep programmes running smoothly and efficiently If so this is your opportunity to join our specialist Process Safety team and play a vital supporting role in Anglian Waters ongoing compliance with the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR). Were looking for a DSEAR Technical Assistant to provide administrative and technical support to the DSEAR Manager and wider team. Your contributions will directly support risk reduction data accuracy and compliance reporting across our asset base helping ensure a safe and sustainable future for our people customers and environment. What Youll Be Doing Reporting to the DSEAR Manager youll play a key role in keeping our DSEAR compliance programme on track. Youll manage data records monitor mailbox queries prepare inspection documentation and support financial and project tracking across the team. Youll also assist with drawing updates certification retrieval supplier liaison and capital project planning. Your responsibilities will include: • Supporting the DSEAR Manager with programme coordination and delivery, • Maintaining and publishing asset records and inspection data in Lighthouse, • Managing the DSEAR team mailbox and tracking queries to resolution, • Preparing and updating hazardous area zone drawings based on site documentation, • Sourcing and storing EX certification for relevant assets, • Updating SAP with accurate DSEAR and Process Safety flags, • Collating and producing inspection reports from engineer findings, • Assisting with the prioritisation and coordination of the annual capital programme, • Liaising with suppliers to source and cost required equipment, • Processing and integrating third-party DSEAR documentation, • Ensuring compliance with POSWSH POSMAINT and asset tracking procedures, • Promoting best practice across technical and safety standards Youll also support performance reporting and team operations by: • Analysing spend profiles and job completion versus budget, • Preparing KPIs and efficiency reports for leadership insight, • Tracking and recording training briefings and competence across the team, • Taking minutes in meetings and ensuring completion of action points, • Managing DSEAR team admin needs around IT equipment and CDM requirements And from a financial management perspective youll: • Assist with CAPEX and OPEX funding governance, • Monitor contractor payments and accounting accruals, • Develop skills in managing TOTEX budgets, • Support adherence to capital governance processes About You Youre a proactive and detail-oriented team contributor with strong organisational skills and a technical mindset. Whether working independently or supporting others youre confident handling data preparing documentation and keeping complex programmes running behind the scenes. To be successful in this role youll need: • ONC/OND or equivalent technical qualification (or proven ability), • GCSE-level English (or equivalent), • Background in technical or administrative roles (preferably within an engineering or operational environment), • Advanced IT and data-handling skills particularly in Excel, • Excellent organisation time management and communication skills, • Confidence preparing and managing large datasets links and formulae, • An adaptable flexible attitude with the ability to maintain confidentiality It would also be beneficial to have: • Knowledge of DSEAR CDM regulations or water industry operations, • Familiarity with SAP Finance or Asset Data Management, • Experience supporting project and capital programme delivery Why Join Us At Anglian Water were leading the way in safe sustainable water services and our people are at the heart of that mission.
