We are seeking a professional and customer‑focused Registered Building Inspector Class 2A-2D who will contribute positively to the delivery and reputation of the 3C building control service. The successful candidate will bring: • strong technical knowledge and sound professional judgement, • a practical and proportionate approach to enforcement and compliance, • a commitment to high standards of customer service, • the ability to work collaboratively within a shared service and political local authority environment Key Parts of the Role • Regulatory Compliance and Professional Judgement, • Site Inspection, Enforcement and Public Protection, • Customer Service, Advice and Commercial Engagement Qualifications: • Degree in building control, building surveying or a related construction discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, • full corporate membership of RICS, CABE or CIOB is desirable, • a full UK driving licence is required and the ability to travel across the 3C area, • The role involves regular site inspections, including working at height, in confined spaces and in adverse weather conditions, • The post holder will be required to undertake dynamic risk assessments when carrying out inspections, • Family friendly policies, • Agile and Flexible working, • Generous annual leave allowance 25 days’ per annum, rising to 30 days’ after five years continuous service; plus 8 days public holidays (pro rata for part time)., • Annual leave purchasing scheme, • Access to the highly valued ___ (LGPS), • Additional Voluntary Contribution (Shared AVC) Scheme, • A variety of learning and development opportunities via a range of sources and methods, • Confidential advice and support via the ___, • Health and well-being programme, • Professional Membership Fees paid for, dependent on the role, • Subsidy for public transport, • Relocation Assistance may be payable in approved cases Although the role is advertised as full time, if you believe you have the skills and experience to join us and would like to discuss different working patterns, please do get in touch.
