Member Services Assistant - Bolton, BL1 1RZ 30 hours | One Year Fixed Term Contract | £20,930 pa + 6% pension contribution The Role Do you have strong customer service skills and a talent for building positive relationships? Hoot Credit Union is a member-owned financial co-operative serving the people of Bolton and Bury. We provide savings accounts and affordable loans to our members and are committed to improving financial wellbeing across our community. We are now looking for a Member Services Assistant to join our friendly team and support over 6,000 members with their financial needs. As the first point of contact for many members, you will play a key role in delivering excellent customer service. The role involves supporting members both face to face and by telephone, providing accurate information and helping them manage their accounts. You will also provide a cashier service, ensuring all transactions are processed efficiently and securely. If this sounds like the role for you, we’d love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities: • Provide a welcoming reception and cashier service, including the processing of financial transactions and reconciliations, • Maintain, monitor and update membership information accurately, • Support the administration of membership and loan applications, • Respond to member enquiries and provide guidance on Hoot’s products and services, • Undertake additional tasks as directed by senior members of the team The Organisation: Hoot Credit Union is a member-owned financial services co-operative serving the people of Bolton and Bury. Benefits: • 6% employer pension contribution, • 22 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, • Friendly office environment in central Bolton, • Working hours: 9am – 3pm, Monday to Friday, • Initial three-month probationary period The Person We are looking for someone who can bring: • Excellent communication skills and a genuine focus on customer service, • Strong organisational skills and the ability to follow procedures accurately, • Experience in cash handling and confidence with financial transactions, • Good ICT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word, with the willingness to learn new systems, • An understanding of credit unions and their values
