    Location: EC1A Hours: Approximately 25 hours per week; Shift pattern: Weekdays 12pm-2pm and 6pm-9pm Japanese Restaurant is looking for a reliable and energetic part-time Kitchen Assistant to support our hot-food section. The role primarily involves finishing and assembling dishes using ingredients and components that have already been prepared. Japanese cooking experience is not essential, as training will be provided. We are looking for someone who works quickly, stays focused and takes pride in presenting food correctly. Key responsibilities • Assemble and finish hot-food dishes using pre-prepared ingredients, following the restaurant’s recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards., • Heat and cook prepared components using the appropriate kitchen equipment, then plate each dish with the correct accompaniments ready for service., • Ensure orders are prepared promptly, accurately and consistently during busy service periods., • Assist with basic food preparation and restocking ingredients before and during service., • Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation., • Follow all food-safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures., • Support other members of the kitchen team whenever required. The ideal candidate • Alert, organised and focused, with the ability to work quickly and accurately during busy service periods., • A proactive team player who notices what needs to be done, takes initiative and is always willing to support colleagues., • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions carefully., • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen., • Japanese-language ability and previous Japanese cooking experience are not required as training will be provided but experience in meal preparation and handling hot foods safely required., • Must already have the right to work in the UK., • For the right candidate, we will consider 20 hours a week (if so required for those candidates on a Student Visa).
