Multi Skilled Joiner \n\n • Location: Various Locations\n, • Hours: 37 per week\n, • Pay Rate: £23 - £25 per hour\n\n We are seeking a Multi Skilled Joiner to join our team, responsible for carrying out a wide range of joinery work including responsive repairs, void property repairs, planned maintenance, and capital investment programmes. This role also involves undertaking multi-skilled duties as per qualifications and agreements. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality repairs and excellent customer service efficiently and cost-effectively. \n Day-to-day of the role: \n Core Joinery Duties: \n\n • Perform all joinery works to properties managed by or worked on by the council.\n, • Execute first and second fix joinery tasks including doors, frames, skirting boards, architraves, window repairs, lock repairs and replacements.\n, • Install and repair kitchen units, worktops, and associated fixtures.\n, • Repair and renew composite doors and UPVC windows.\n, • Gain entry through various locking systems and window mechanisms, minimising damage and costs.\n, • Carry out carpentry-related maintenance including timber roofing repairs, flooring repairs, boxing-in works, and stud wall construction.\n\n Multiskilling Duties: \n\n • Execute additional repairs including minor plumbing tasks, wall, floor, and external repairs.\n, • Tile flat wall areas, plaster patch repairs, brick up and plaster fireplaces, carry out patch-pointing repairs, unblock WCs and waste pipes, re-bed loose paving slabs, repair gutters and downpipes, replace gully tops, and paint doors and door frames.\n\n General and Operational Responsibilities: \n\n • Diagnose tenant-reported repairs and provide detailed feedback.\n, • Operate and maintain plant, machinery, and equipment safely.\n, • Safeguard council property, vehicles, plant, and equipment.\n, • Maintain vehicle stock and accurately record materials used against jobs.\n, • Use council IT systems effectively and ensure job records are updated accurately.\n\n Health & Safety Responsibilities: \n\n • Comply with all council Health and Safety policies and procedures.\n, • Follow safe systems of work including working at height, electrical works, gas safety, COSHH, and manual handling.\n, • Maintain issued PPE and ensure it is worn appropriately at all times.\n\n Customer Service Responsibilities: \n\n • Deliver excellent customer service at all times.\n, • Communicate clearly with tenants regarding repair requirements, timescales, and outcomes.\n, • Ensure properties are left clean, safe, and tidy following completion of works.\n\n Required Skills & Qualifications: \n\n • NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent, NVQ Multiskilling Certificate.\n, • Experience in building maintenance or construction, multi-skilled repair and maintenance work.\n, • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, capable of working independently.\n, • Excellent communication and customer service skills.\n, • Ability to diagnose and rectify faults, willingness to develop new skills.\n, • Full UK Driving Licence.\n
