Infrastructure & Energy Finance Lawyer - London We are working with a highly regarded global law firm that is looking to expand its infrastructure and energy finance team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level associate with strong infrastructure finance experience who is looking to step into a practice that is consistently at the very top of the market and positioned for significant long-term growth. The team is busy, well-resourced, and continuing to grow in response to strong client demand. Partners are actively reviewing profiles on an ongoing basis and are keen to speak with high-quality candidates who can add depth and experience to the group. The infrastructure and energy finance teams are among the most experienced in Europe and the UK and are consistently ranked Tier 1 by leading legal directories. They advise on some of the most complex, innovative, and cross-border financing transactions in the market and are trusted by major sponsors, lenders, and institutional investors. The infrastructure team is particularly active across the full spectrum of debt products. This includes traditional loan financings, senior debt, multi-creditor and platform financings (both rated and unrated investment-grade structures), as well as more complex elements of the capital structure such as Midco financings, whole-business securitisations, IPP financings, and equity bridge loans. The practice is sector-agnostic and spans the entire capital stack, with work covering acquisition finance, long-term refinancing solutions, holdco and minority financings, and bespoke structured solutions. Associates are encouraged to develop a deep understanding of the underlying assets and commercial drivers behind each transaction, rather than simply focusing on documentation in isolation. Candidate Profile • Minimum of 4 PQE, with an ideal range of 5–9 PQE, • Infrastructure finance experience gained at a major law firm, • Strong technical grounding in complex financing structures, • Comfortable drafting, reviewing, and negotiating key transaction documents, • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions, • Confident managing deal processes and supervising junior lawyers or trainees, • Commercial, adaptable, and client-focused, • A collaborative team player who works well across all levels of seniority This role will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of matters, engaging directly with clients, and negotiating with counterparties in a fast-paced, high-quality environment. The firm offers hybrid and flexible working, with strong support for home working, including ergonomic assessments and equipment. There is a genuine focus on wellbeing and sustainability alongside high-end legal work. Additional benefits include enhanced annual leave with the option to purchase extra holiday, a comprehensive benefits package covering income protection, life assurance, and pension, as well as access to a range of corporate and financial discounts. The firm also offers generous referral bonuses and a broad range of health and wellbeing initiatives, including gym discounts and corporate healthcare plans. Career development is a real priority, with opportunities for secondments, international exposure, and global mobility. Estimated salary range is £138,000–£170,000, depending on experience, with average total compensation sitting comfortably in the mid-to-high end of the market for this level. This is a standout opportunity to join a market-leading infrastructure finance practice that combines high-end work with a genuinely supportive and forward-looking culture. The team is known for its technical excellence but also for being collaborative, inclusive, and invested in developing its lawyers. In addition, the firm is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation, with a major transatlantic merger on the horizon that will significantly enhance its global offering and create a truly integrated UK–US platform. For a mid-level associate, this means access to increasingly complex and international work, long-term career progression, and the chance to be part of a practice that is shaping the future of the infrastructure finance market.
