We’re Hiring: Data Protection Lawyer (London, UK) 📍 London, United Kingdom – hybrid working model 📅 Start date: 15 April 2026 🛂 Valid right to work in the UK required About MyData-TRUST MyData-TRUST delivers specialised data protection and compliance services tailored for the Life Sciences sector ensuring adherence to international privacy frameworks. With a multidisciplinary team of legal, IT, and industry experts, the MDT translates regulatory complexities into tailored operational processes for biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and healthcare organisations worldwide. The Role As a Data Protection Lawyer, you’ll join our legal team and take on a key, hands-on role in client compliance projects and MDT knowledge development. You’ll work closely with internal teams and directly with clients to turn data protection laws into practical solutions, particularly in Life Sciences and R&D settings. Key Responsibilities (Non-Exhaustive) • Deliver legal counsel on data protection issues across designated client projects, • Scrutinise and draft essential data protection instruments (contracts, privacy notices, policies, legal opinions), • Deliver analyses of data protection regimes across multiple jurisdictions, • Track developments in regulations and jurisprudence, evaluating their operational ramifications, • Advise clients on regulatory applicability and adherence, • Identify and develop a proficiency in a designated data protection domain and/or national regulatory framework to become a subject matter expert, • Facilitate internal knowledge sharing, training programmes, and the refinement of deliverables and methodologies Your Profile Essential Qualifications and Expertise • Comprehensive understanding of a core regulation to which MDT works such as the GDPR, EU AI Act, or other data protection/AI laws internationally, • Excellent analytical skills, practicality, and sound legal judgement, • Ability to apply legal rules in real project situations, including AI deployments, • Excellent drafting and communication skills, • Fluent English required; other languages are a big plus, • LL.M in Health Data, Data Protection or AI considered to be advantageous, but not essential, • Experience in Life Sciences, clinical research, or AI is helpful, but not essential, • Admitted to practice in England and Wales, is a plus, but not essential Personal Attributes • Inquisitive, critical thinker with an authentic interest in privacy or AI, • Independent, proactive, and solution oriented, • Comfortable with working under defined deliverable timelines and juggling multiple priorities, • Organised, flexible, and collaborative, • Committed to continuous professional development, • Open to occasional travel What We Offer • 28 days of annual leave, • 12 compensation days - To promote employee well-being and work-life balance, in recognition of the 40-hour working week, MDT provides an additional paid day off per month as a non-contractual benefit, • Private Health Insurance, • Cycle to Work scheme, • Hybrid working arrangement – 2 days per week in office, • Engagement multinational Life Sciences projects, • A tangible opportunity to shape MDT’s methodologies, tools, and services
